I live in Toronto Canada.

Right now case prices are at .91cents per litre for 87. 3.7 litres is a US gallon so that would make it $3.37CAN (~$2.75US). Prices are even going higher in some areas in Toronto. Toronto is the 3rd most expensive place to get gas in Canada. In Vancouver I think its at over $1 per litre.

Lucky me, I have to use 92 Octaine or better so i'm paying 10+ cents more a litre for power my engine.

Gas prices are a joke. If I had an option I would walk/bike but I work 45 minutes away by car to work so that would be too difficult/long. I think this year I am going to take out my motorcycle again even though the thought from last years near death experience. But.. we'll see.

$2.26 here. Whats the bigger picture are they done yet? Other things that shows how there screwing folks. On my side of town about 6 miles from I 90 it's the $2.26. But as soon as you get close to I 90 they jump it $2.38. Same gas just 5 miles a part.
And they say no one is taking advantage of anyone. Some say oh it's the tax. I don't think the tax changes in 5/6miles. Unless you cross state lines. In this case you don't.

Thats called capitalism! Why is a hot dog 5 bucks at a baseball game and a buck at dairy queen..

Capitalism-
an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods by investments that are determined by private decision rather than by state-control, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

2.28 if you look arounda bit. I am sure I am in the minority and I am going to raise some eyebrows when I say this, but , comparitively speaking, I think gas is relativiley inexpensive. It hasn't really kept upwith the rise of inflation over the years.
Read on:

Compare it to the 60's, when gas was like 30 to 36 cents per gallon. Now it is like 7x that. First run movies then were like 50 cents. Today, movies are $7 minimum, which is 14x. A new music LP was $3.......today a new CD is 6-7 times that........pretty even. A new Volkswagon was around $1700 then. To keep pace with gas at 7x, you could only spend around $12000 on your new vehicle today. A nice '67GTO was $3800. 7x that is around $26,000, which won't buy you the comparitive vehicle today. etc, etc, etc.
Nice3/2 pool homes here in the 60's were $20-$25000. 7x that now would buy you a small 2/2 in the worst area of town only.

I was lucky enough to be able to afford a new Corvette in 1979. I remember making the salesman fill it up for free for me & I still have the receipt (as I do the car & all paperwork) for 15 gallons at $1.69 per gallon, hi -test. We are only like 40% above that now, not much of an increase in 26 years. Here in S. Fla during the gas crunch in the mid 70's, we approached $2 per gallon for regular.

Now, compare those gas prices with what we (you) pay for let's say:
A small bottle of Evian water is like $1.29. I think they are 9 oz., so you pay $10 per gallon for water !! Yet you do.
Diet Snapple, gatorade or Lipton ice tea. Buy the small bottles & you PAY around $10 per gallon, or more. Ya'll do it.

Consider brake fluid....at $3 per can, you are out about $30 to $35 per gallon. No one says squat about it.

Or Nyquil cough syrup........well over $125 per gallon ! But you buy it with a smile.

Go figure the cost of let's say, white-out or pepto-bismol.

And we haven't even touched the cost of your after shave or cologne.........much less the one which your honey uses. $500 per gallon & up to (unlimited absurd).

So, guys, put it in perspective & don't cry tooooooo much. it could be alot worse. Be thankful you car doesn't run on cough syrup.
