Read an article stating Rep Don Young R-Alaska is proposing an increase in the gas tax to fix the deplorable infastructure of bridges in the U.S. ....I would like to put forth the idea that we pull back 1/2 the monies being sent overseas; a minimum of 1/2 of the PORK spending and fix bridges and roads. Our population grows, more drivers because we have no mass transit so something needs to be done. JMHO

Above the Clouds....
Just an example of wasted money up here. A Sen. gave a local rowing club $100,000 of taxpayer money to build a clubhouse. And then another $10,000 for a buoy system! Oh and there was the $125,000 to build a sidewalk to nowhere!!

Damn, don't get me started. What did all the bridge tolls and toll booth monies go to? I thought they were to pay for repairs!! :mj16:

Don't know about other states--but premise of lottery in Ky was suppose to go to roads-education ect and allieviate need for taxes--somehow it goes into general fund and there is no way for public to see where allocations are going.
