marshall (-3.5) 6 units. taking a big shot with the thundering herd. well, to be more specific, i'm taking a big shot against usf. the bulls won their first 7 games of the year, and then proceeded to drop their last 5. you could make the argument that all 5 were against bowl teams, but the writing was on the wall even when they were winning. they needed an 80-yard 4th quarter td run to beat ecu by 7. they beat tulsa by 1 and uconn by 8 just before starting the losing skid. so they dropped into the bad boy mowers gasparilla bowl. and into another one of my favorite wagering angles... betting against a team playing a bowl game in their home stadium. i have no doubt that they had high expectations when they were 7-0. hard to believe they're going to be super fired up for a home game against marshall.

the herd only needs to slow down usf's run game, because they aren't going to have any passing game. and marshall's run defense has been very good, allowing 2.98 yards/carry.

oh, and marshall is 5-0 in bowl games under doc holliday.

Yea thanx for the thundering turds play. Just don?t bet on my eers lol

glad i could help. :toast:

really not sure what i'll be doing with the eers game. i think, top to bottom, they are still a much better team than syracuse. i'm assuming allison is going to start at qb (please let me know if you've seen anything different). in general, it's a good idea to wager on teams with the backup making his first start. teams seem to rally around the backup and everybody steps up. and if holgersen recruited allison, i'm assuming he can sling it. that said, clearly chris chugunov was not ready to play in last year's bowl game, when grier missed it with a broken finger.

but, speaking of holgersen, wvu is 0-5 ATS (1-4 SU) their last 5 bowl games with him.

so, yeah, i've got a week to work on that one.
