I have an appointment on September 3 with a bariatric surgeon to schedule a date to have this procedure performed. I shared this information with several MadJackers at the golf outing a few weeks ago. When I know more details I will post the information. I've started a web blog to chronicle my journey and would appreciate any comments and encouragement that you can share.

I'm ready to start a new chapter in my life and am very excited about my future!

I'm excited for you tide! Don't be frustrated if you have to jump through hoops for 6 months (see a dieticicain every 2 weeks, go to your MD every 2 weeks, go on a diet, etc.). Most insurance companies delay this process before they give the go-ahead and approve the surgery. GL!!

HELL
Good luck. I had a friend go through it. Tough at first because if he even had a crumb he was full, lost about 140 and has maintained thus far after 2 years. All this and he is back to normal drinking and eating for the most part. All the best....

RollTide,

Good Luck with the procedure...

My next door neighbor had it done a year ago...She has lost over 100lbs and has had 'complications'..

She had to have gall bladder out earlier this year and 2 wks ago her daughter found her unresponsive on floor. She was sent to E.R.
and treated for dehyrdration

I personally think she is hooked on pain meds from back surgery she also had...thats just my opinion though.

She deviated from her physician's advice and got into the mindset of "LOSING WEIGHT"...now she can't stop and it is costing her...

Make sure you are completely ready for this life changing procedure and are ready to make the commitment/dedication to do it RIGHT....

BTW....Another woman in my son't Cub Scout Pack had the procedure a month ago and has lost 33 pounds so far...Spoke with her last night, she was 'forcing' herself to eat a cup of food...in this case--1/2 a hamburger patty and some lettuce...:scared  ...She has had NO complications, then again she is friends with Amy and has seen what she is going through

GOOD LUCK
