so you think gay's should be able to get married and have the same rights as a married couple as you and I do:shrug:

If two gays want to live together and have a civil ceremony, not a wedding, go for it, I dont give a shit, but for them to be legally married is complete bullshit and have the same rights as my wife and I do, no...

Seriously, why should you have anymore rights than a gay person? How does it hurt your life if they want to get married?

I'll try to answer for HH. Everyone knows that gays are a threat to the American family. (see Carrie Prejean) They undermine the core values of American society. It's in the bible they should get stoned. Well, actually, everyone should get stoned, but then again I'm from the 60's.

As far as civil rights go, why should US Americans pay for diseases that gays get like aids since they get it because they engage in sex that is against american values? Therefore, they should not share in health care benefits that a husband and wife get.

I don't think Marilyn Manson should have health care coverage either because I don't know if he/she is a boy/girl and if he/she sleeps with boys or girls.

Eddie for HH.

Hedge, I believe very strongly that all Americans deserve equal treatment under the law regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc...

My former landscaper was homosexual, and lived with his boyfriend. Since they weren't married, my landscaper was unable to enjoy spousal benefits, and thus had to pay for insurance out of pocket. That seems unfair, and even "un-American", to me.

marriage is between one male and one female, not two males or two females. Unfair is that he would get spousal benefits in my book as they are unmarried.

Thats not a valid reason. Why is marriage only between a man and woman in your mind? I know you have more to say on the subject.

What about people who undergo sex changes? Do they deserve to be married if they marry someone of their opposite sex at the time of their marriage?

Personally, I think people who are over 25% body fat and run red lights while stuffing cupcakes down their throat should be denied any right to marriage.

I guess Hedge will not answer, but I would like anyone to post one good reason, aside from religion*, why homosexuals and bi-sexuals should not be allowed all of the rights and freedoms that heterosexuals receive.

*Some will say the deity they believe in does not allow for homosexual unions. I say that any deity that discriminates against humans based on race, creed or sexual orientation does not deserve loyal followers like yourselves. Furthermore, I may not have so easily strayed from my Catholic upbringing, had that particular religion been open-minded in terms of the rights of others.

I've never understood why gays wanting to get married gets people so up in arms. Don't we have enough things to worry about? I'm fairly conservative but could care less if Gerald Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzgerald want to marry. Really, how is that impinging on someone else's rights? I think Hollywood harms the institution of marriage more.

.

this was posted in political(by me to try and make a point)...quoting highly thought of"evolutionary psychologist satoshi kanazawa at the the london school of economics and political science".... he`s no conservative...

"nakazawa:" The power of female choice becomes quite apparent in a simple thought experiment. Imagine for a moment a society where sex and mating were entirely a male choice; individuals have sex whenever and with whomever men want, not whenever and with whomever women want. What would happen in such a society? Absolutely nothing, because people would never stop having sex! There would be no civilization in such a society, because people would not do anything besides have sex. This, incidentally, is the reason why gay men never stop having sex: there are no women in their relationships to say no."

so, if extrapolted to it`s conclusion, gay men can`t get anything done because they`re always having sex.....

/i know...i know....but,this is what passes for logic in some of our higher institutions of learning....god help us...:lol:

The state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law
