Before this gets dumped to politics (where it probably belongs) I just wanted to share this joy with the board. My Facebook feed is understandably filled with a buch of happy homos. In particular there are 2 or 3 friends who lived in states that before today gay marriage had dim prospects. This hasn't always been my personal HUGE issue, but seeing and reading about the tears of joy and happiness being expressed by these friends of mine is all it took for me to truly appreciate this moment. These friends were in very long term relationships with the people they loved and they were just waiting for the right to get married, as they always wanted to. Now they can. All debate over the merits of gay marriage and any consequences it will have on society aside, I hope everyone can understand that this one court decision brought serious joy to many many thousands and millions of people.
The map, showing what gay marriage rights are in each state, which many of us have been watching change over the past several years now looks like this.
