Not sure how any of this surprises anyone at this point. Just another example of PC hypocrisy with no end in sight. For the record I liked both shows as well as "all in the family" and "good times".

All of these shows were very funny and very well done. It was obvious to me that the humor was done in fun and not meant to offend anyone. If you don't like that kind of humor then just don't watch it.
Some of the racial humor done now is meant to be funny and offensive. That's the big difference and that's why racial humor doesn't fly so well nowadays.
Both Archie and George showed us how stupid racism is by leading us to laugh at its stupidity.
