Georgetown 2-8 SU last 10. Wins against garbage South Florida and garbage Rutgers.

Why put anything significant on this team to win a game? Even their at-large tournament hopes are over. They'll have to win the Big East.

I suppose the kids could be sold on the fact that they need to come out and save their season, but reality is they aren't getting in as an at-large.

Line seems shady to me. Lousyville (er, I mean Louisville) seemingly should be a bigger favorite. I personally think the Hoyas show up tonight.

Line looks a little fishy, I think Georgetown wins a close one. I am staying away but if had to choose would take points and home team.

i know what you mean

i know what you mean

i do not play sides at ncaa hoops, but BOL if u take that game.....

vicc

i have done badly with sides in NCAA BB all season
so i know what you mean, i think this is a setup for Louisville backers as the line is really tempting but i seen it slide a little bit now towards Louisville which makes me wonder if our Vegas friends are giving AWAY $$$$:mj07:

Look for Terrence Williams to go down in the first half with a phantom ankle injury.

In years past I would be all over the Hoyas just because the line doesn't make sense, but when you take a bad team bad things happen. Losing teams find ways to lose.

I don't think the line's fishy at all. The better team is playing on the road and is favored. L'ville isn't favored by a lot, but they aren't a premier team. How much would Duke or UNC be favored by in this game? (Prob not a lot -- G'town was +9 at Duke a month ago.) This is also the first time G'town is the dog at home this year. Maybe even longer.

Seems like there's a lot of games where the home team is favored over a team with (a) a better record and (b) that beat the home team earlier this year. Those look like headscratchers. But then the home team wins. Case in point tonite -- Wofford favored over Western Carolina and Murray State favored over Tennessee Martin.

Wofford and Murray are both favored. Both lost on the road to the team they are facing earlier this season. Both have lesser or equal records to the visiting team tonite. Should they be favored?

Good points SP, but as it relates to G-Town, plain and simplt they are terrible this year. Louisvile has had some lapses but have been playing well of late (After they got destroyed by ND on 2/12..

Louisville is by far the better team and gets the W tonte.. BIG BIG PLAY in fact...I would stay away from the total.

Looks like G'town has not been a dog at home since 1/21/06 against undefeated Duke. Getting eight, the Hoyas won 87-84. That was a good G'town team which went three games in the NCAA Tournament.

The last time they were dogs in a home Big East game was 2/27/05 against Nova. The Hoyas were in the midst of a season-ending five- or six-game losing streak and came in with a 16-8 record. Nova was a good team that year, losing six games in the regular season and winning two games in the NCAA Tournament. Nova was -3 and won 67-56.

So when G'town is a dog at home, there's a legit reason. No tricks or traps involved.

Gtown is 3-4 at home this year in Big East play, 2 of those losses were in blowout fashion to Pitt and WVU, where yes they were favorite. They have lost 8 of last 10, but if they win out would be 18-11(9-9 in conference) with wins over the current ranked #2 at UCONN and #5 Memphis, and Louisville who is currently ranked #6. That to me IMO, and even given their recent losing streak, might just be enough to get them in the tournament, perhaps may need a win in the BE tournament. It all starts tonight and I think I just talked myself along with SP's comments into playing GTown. Louisville 2 game on the road in 3 days, even though the Cincy game was a short trip. Here's to nothing.....

Good luck guys.

GF, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t, no matter how you slice it, G-Town ain't even close to a good team this year and certainly won't run the table. You worked hard to convince yourself of the G-Town play. Easier to find a different more straight up angle. Louisville is the better team here. They will lead by 7 or so with less than 3 minutes left and it'll be up to G-town to see if they can hit shots and make Louisviile hit FT's, which they aren't so good at..

Good luck

really? so why is the -2 if Louisville is considerably better?

"they will lead by 7"

oh yeah that's great reasoning to talk him out of his play.....

Guys, it just open dialogue, good forum we have here. Regardless, I haven't done anything yet, and everyone's opinions count. They have not been good, no doubt, but then again the line is what it is for a reason. Not much on the slate tonight, and forcing a play on a bad team is yes probably bad idea, but then again I am an action hound. Either way it won't be a game to "shoot" IMO, but I am still leaning towards the Hoyas.

I got burned by Louisville AT Notre Dame and Villanova AT West Virginia. Both blowouts for the home team.

Don't trust a Big East fav on the road. I'd say play GeorgeTown small or pass. Also, L'ville may be looking ahead to a big game against Marquette.

UTCahoona,

i should just save the prognosticating about what the score will be, hell they could be up 15 or up by 2, point is Louisville will be up and they will win. if you don't feel it you should bet the other side.

G-Town has disappointed time and time again this year. I'm done playing them and think they are destined for the NIT where they'll probably disappoint there too and lose to someone like Morehead State...or CSU Northridge..ya'know something to make the Thompson family proud..An achievement JTIII can hang right up there next to father's BRONZE medal in the '88 Olympics..Another not-so Shining Moment indeed...
