-- Excepting pre-season tournaments and games in Hawaii, the two road games to open the 2005-06 season is the first such road trip to open a season since 1985-86, when georgetown played two games in Hawaii plus road games at Grambling and George Mason.

Preview
On paper, James Madison may seem a lot like last Friday's opponent in navy--a little undersized, a weak defense, and a low assist to turnover percentage. On closer look, the Dukes enter its season opener with Georgetown with considerably more experience and help up front. For those reasons alone, expect Monday's game to be more competitive.
JMU returns five starters from a 6-22 club, but expect changes in that lineup. In a closer than expected nine point exhibition win over Division III Bridgewater, coach Dean Keener started two freshmen and may rely on some veteran experience off the bench.
The Dukes remain a short team, with only one player taller than 6-6, so Roy Hibbert may get some more opportunities to build up his stats. 6-8 Cavell Johnson will have to step up his play inside to keep Georgetown away from the easy baskets.
Two Dukes off the bench are worth watching. Guard Daniel Freeman averaged 14.7 a game in 2004 but was lost to injury after just four games in 2005, having averaged 19 a game. A healthy Freeman will push Georgetown's backcourt. Freeman will also be joined in the backcourt by redshirt freshman Joe Posey, a considerable pickup for the Dukes' recruiting efforts in 2004 who did not play last season.
Georgetown was statistically superior to Navy in the opener but its offense lagged at various points of the game. Guards Cook and Wallace must do a better job of running the offense and getting the forwards in the action.
Three keys to the game:
1. Jeff Green needs 12 or more points.
2. Georgetown must shoot better from three point range.
3. Each team needs to stay under 14 turnovers.
Vanderbilt, Oregon, Illinois. It's no time to look ahead, only that Georgetown needs to make the most of Monday's game and await the tougher tests to come.
