Alot of effort of people trying to figure out who will win this game on the side. It is very difficult to tell if any college team will start the season with a win, or if they will play up to their standing.:SIB

The total in this game jumps out at me.

Georgia will struggle on defense. Thats a given.
That will add up to Oklahoma St points.

Georgia has a very good offense with running backs but questionable receivers right now.
At home between the hedges. If they can run it up and score 40 they will.

Georgia's offensive line is new. Protection for Stafford will not be the best. Turnovers add points.

Oklahoma St offensive numbers are no fluke. Their two running backs and one outstanding receiver should carry the day for them. They will move the ball and score some points. I trust their QB to settle down and play his game.

Oklahoma St defense is suck ass. Medium at best.

The only concern I have is first game jitters, offense for both teams not ready to gel yet.

But something tells me that both teams will run up and down the field all night in a close game to teh end.

When they do , I will meet you on 444 Glory Rd, it runs right off of 777 Victory Lane , and that is where I live.

It seems simple enough.

Stillwater, Okla. ? Oklahoma State's opener at No. 13 Georgia will take running back Dantrell Savage back to his home state.

"I'm real excited about going back to my home state to play, so my mom, grandma and cousins can see me play now," Savage said. "This is too far for them to come here."

The more than 900-mile journey will mark Oklahoma State's longest trip for a season opener since the Cowboys opened at Washington in 1985. It outdistances recent trips to Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois.

Savage said the drive from his hometown to Oklahoma State's campus takes 13 to 14 hours.

Savage's mother, Monica, made the trip to Stillwater twice last year for games, but this will give other family members ? including cousins in Columbus and his father in the Miami area ? to see him in person.

Receiver Adarius Bowman, who's from Chattanooga, Tenn., and transferred from North Carolina, sees it as a homecoming too.

"Honestly, this don't even feel like an away game to me," said Bowman, the Cowboys' top receiver. "I feel like I'm going to have so much support and fans and family down that way. I'm feeling like I'm going to my home. I'm loving it. I ain't been that way in a long time."

Savage expects between 30 and 50 family members and friends to attend the game Saturday, and he hopes he'll get the chance to reminisce with them afterward.

Georgia players will also be awaiting Savage's arrival. After leading the Big 12's top rushing offense and being named the offensive MVP of Oklahoma State's Independence Bowl win against Alabama, opponents can't help but take notice.

"He's a weapon," Georgia safety Kelin Johnson said. "The more I watch film, he's a guy that at first I say, 'OK, he's a good back.' Then I say, 'He's real good.'"

Savage rushed for 820 yards and eight touchdowns last season, and his 26-yard pickup on a screen pass set up the Cowboys' game-winning field goal in the Independence Bowl. He said his goals for this season are "just to run the ball."

The more I think about this game, the more I think the Over has very little shot of hitting. I will preface the rest of this with that I will not be putting any money where my opinion is.

Both teams will more than likely be relying on a ground attack for the majority of their offense.

Neither passing game is proven, especially when you take UGA's offensive line into account.

Both defenses are slightly above average but not good enough to create points for their squad.

Earlier in the month, I was wondering if Georgia would win this game. Now that it is getting closer, I don't see OSU presenting as many difficulties to us as I first saw. I can not see both teams putting up 4 touchdowns here.

Good luck, scotty, and I look forward to your take the rest of the year.

dawg

nice read there.

Your right, I am counting on running touchdowns from both teams.

Gotta think the QBs will come through a few times though. Any special team scores and I am in the house.

Kentucky last November.

"In that Kentucky game he got his helmet ripped off and somebody came in with a late hit and crushed his face. He didn't get up and start whining about it or try to start a fight," said tight end Tripp Chandler of Georgia's starting quarterback. "He got up grabbed his helmet, spit out the blood in his mouth and kept going. Attitude reflects leadership.

All eyes will be on Stafford; some 92,000 pairs of them will watch from the stands of Sanford Stadium and another 100 or so from the sideline when Oklahoma State rolls into town Saturday night.

"I hope people look to me, because I want that kind of pressure on my shoulders," said Stafford, who was 6-2 as a starter last year. "I want people relying on me at the end of the game to get the job done. That is what I have always loved, and that is what I have always wanted to happen."

It was after the Kentucky game when Stafford started getting the job done. With plenty of help, he led Georgia (9-4) to three straight wins over top-20 teams and back into the Top 25. After throwing four touchdown passes and 12 interceptions through 10 games, five as the starter, he had three TDs and only one interception in wins over Auburn, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.:SIB

He became dedicated. The body that was 248 pounds at one time during his freshman year was reshaped to 229. Players noticed. They also noticed Stafford was the one calling the shots every day over the spring and summer.
..................................................................

Stafford's time to step it up. He should be ready.

Thomas Brown #20

Was injured in the Vanderbilt game in 2006. At the time of his injury he was ranked 3rd in kick off yardage in the SEC. Led the Bulldogs in Rushing in 2004 and 2005.

While sharing time with 2 other big time running backs and playing against some of the top defenses in the country.

2006* - 62 rushes - 256 yards - 4.1 average - 1 TD

2005 - 147 rushes - 736 yards - 5.0 average - 4 TD's

2004 - 172 rushes - 875 yards - 5.1 average - 8 TD's

* Hurt 6th game of the season.

The teams second leading rusher in 2003, missed the entire 2004 season due to a knee injury. Led the team in rushing in 2006. He was also UGA?s third-leading receiver with 17 grabs for 116 yards

Knowshon Moreno #24

Whats really scary is that if KnoMo plays the same way he has practiced and scrimmaged, he will be the best of the group by a wide margin.

Richt and staff know that stopping O-State receiver Adarius Bowman and an offense that averaged 35.2 points per game in 2006 is a good place to start. That job depends on a defense which returns just three starters.:scared

Senior safety Kelin Johnson brings back 60 tackles and is the only returning defender with an interception. Sophomore Bryan Evans started the final three games of 2006 at cornerback with CJ Byrd playing in all 13 games at safety.

Oklahoma State kicker Jason Ricks is on the preseason watch list for the Lou Groza Award, which is presented to the nation?s top collegiate placekicker, it was announced Tuesday.

Ricks converted 10-of-12 field goal attempts as a sophomore in 2006, booting a 53-yarder in the season-opener against Missouri State. He finished the season by knocking in each of his last seven attempts. Ricks was also successful on 47-of-49 point after touchdown tries and ranks 14th on OSU?s career scoring list with 157 career points and has never missed from inside 40 yards (17-for-17).

.................................................................

field goals cannot be taken lightly.

The kickers are important to me. Expecially good ones for going over the total.

Every point on the board counts. And 3 points is better than nothing

Awaiting Bobby Reid was a letter saying Georgia had revoked its scholarship offer. :SIB

While Bryant and Reid were at the Elite 11 camp, quarterback Blake Barnes verbally committed to the Bulldogs.

"I was upset because they told me no, but I had to understand it was business.

"He looks just like Vince Young on film," cornerback Bryan Evans said.

Reid was seventh in the Big 12 last year in total offense (2,266 passing yards and 500 rushing yards). This year, he's a candidate for the Davey O'Brien Award, which goes to the nation's top quarterback.

"An athletic quarterback, everybody knows that's the kind of guy who gives you the most trouble," Georgia defensive coordinator Willie Martinez said.
:scared :scared

The Cowboys also are expected to play their backup quarterback, sophomore Zac Robinson, on Saturday. Georgia expects the two players to be in on the same play as many as 15 times in attempt to confuse the defense.

the ok st defense might be worst of any major program in the nation.....

also, true freshman stafford put up 37 against Auburn and 31 against VT to end the season....

plus they return almost no one on defense against the best offense in the Big 12.....don't underestimate the impact of the OSU passing game here.....OSU will score at least 27 points...

Oklahoma State Offense vs. Georgia Defense

A Georgia front seven that includes two new starters at linebacker and three new starters along the defensive line faces a tough first test in Oklahoma State's potent and balanced attack. The first hurdle this front will have to overcome is slowing down RB Dantrell Savage and backup Keith Toston. They both read their blocks well, explode through holes and can make defenders miss in space. It's critical the front seven controls emotions and takes care of responsibilities because Savage and Toston are both capable of cutting back when they see a defender caught out of position. In addition, the Bulldogs must make sure they get into good tackling positions to counter that elusiveness.

No. 3 Julius Crosslin is the power back and he will likely come into the game in short-yardage situations. DT's Jeff Owens and Geno Atkins make up for their lack of ideal size with quickness so the key to stopping Croslsin will be getting into the backfield and slowing him down before he gains momentum. It's also worth noting that QB Bobby Reid rushed for 500 yards last year and does an excellent job of exploiting the vertical seams offensive coordinator Larry Fedora's spread scheme creates for him.

Go Bulldogs !

Go Oklahoma St !

points, lots and lots of points.

Reshad Jones, Thomas Flowers, Asher Allen, Bryan Evans, Kelin Johnson, CJ Byrd, Prince Miller and Quinton Banks

Georgia's DBs.
..........................................................

These guys are athletic, quick to the ball, and they can hit.

They all have experience, so its not a bunch of rookies for Georgia. But #7 average is yards is nothing to sneeze at.
