Geraldo Rivera is denying reports that he's been kicked out of Iraq (news - web sites) by U.S. military officials for giving out too much information about troop locations.

Reporting on the Fox News Channel, Rivera said he's actually further inside Iraq than he'd been before.

He was standing alongside U.S. troops in a building he identified as Iraq's ruling party headquarters in a city south of Baghdad.

Rivera said it sounds like the rumors that he'd been kicked out were spread by people he described as "rats" at NBC, where he used to work.

He said his rivals "can't compete fair and square on the battlefield" ? so they try to stab him in the back.

But in the end, he insists, "quality journalism wins out."

Rivera said he has a "great relationship" with the troops in the 101st Airborne ? and that he plans to "march into Baghdad alongside them."

Ooopsie Daisy!
What makes things doubly bad for Geraldo and FOX is the fact that he does a report this morning and says all this stuff.....only to find out those werent just rumors his former employers were spreading.

I understand completely what AR was talking about with the good things he's done in his career.....and respect entirely his views on the guy.....actually I respect AR as a poster.......so I'll just leave it at that.

It all has to do with Geraldo drawing a battle map in the sand at least twice last night....did anyone else see this? I did.....and actually couldnt believe he was doing it when I saw it.

I dislike Geraldos type of journalism and his arrogance. Isnt he one of the guys that cheated on his wife with the baby sitter.

To get to the issue. Even if he did draw a map in the sand , do you think Iraqi Generals are pinpointing their location.....what ...to send a bomber post haste to the site ? I dont think so. They could hop on a camel and be there in a week, but by then the troops most likely would be gone.

The Iraqi regime is too worried right now about not being killed by American bombs to think too clearly or to worry about Geraldo Riveria.

I didn't see it, but if he did something to jeopardize the troops that he was with or damage war strategy, then they should throw him out of iraq.I agree that he has a big ego. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me if he or anybody else puts the allies in danger for his self importance.

Buck,

Thanks for the kind words. I try to respect everybody's opinion also. This war has frayed everybody's nerves & sometimes things get posted that shouldn't be posted(myself included). But on the whole I think everybody is doing a good job expressing their thoughts.

Scott,

You may be right, I dont know. We've battered em down pretty good at this point. But who knows what they could try if they thought they knew the direction one of our units were headed in.

Hopefully Iraq is the last stop we have to make for a long, long time. But if we were ever to go at it on the ground with a country like China or North Korea.....these embedded journalists better know what the f*ck their saying......otherwise....it may cost thousands their lives.

I remember he did do tht and even mention a town close by. So what? Hey Im not going to defend him I said that long time ago about this guy. But lets say and I believe this was true. Number one they were not moveing. How long they sit there could Iraqi soldiers made use of the info? But to say the direction they would be moving in. To me that would be nuts.

Geraldo did not show a battle plan! !

Geraldo did not show a battle plan! !

He showed a supply line. He pin pointed cities as to where these cities are and where they have to travel to get these supplies or should I say where different supplies are. Its no surprise the Iraqis know where these God foresakin cities are, as they should cause they are guarding the road for these supplies. Thats why it is takin us battles in between to get these refinements. Geraldo didnt lay out the battle plan just the lonely road which leads to the supply lines. The Iraqis know this.
