s just as much our fault.

And don't cry to me about overseas jobs, either. It's our job to make our country attractive to both domestic and foreign companies. We can do it. We just have to STOP being pampered pussies and get to WORK.

Sorry but there is no way we are gonna compete against a third world country unless you turn us into a third world country. We can work as hard as we want but paying someone 10 cents an hour looks to inviting to a dirtbag CEO with no conscience. Greed kills.

But don't come to me with a fecking sob story about being foreclosed on when you "bought" a house that was WAY THE FECK out of your financial reach.

Personal accountability is what this is about!

.
I still can't understand how this could happen to anyone unless they lost their job. How anyone could take out a mortgage beyond their means is crazy to me. How anyone could give someone a loan when they know the guy will most likely fail is also stunning to me unless that guy knows he will get his money anyway from a tax payer bailout. something tells me there is a lot more to this story then what we are getting. Its always easy to blame the poorer guy.

Don't forget there are tons of us who are still very vulnerable (if that's what you meant... if you meant venerable, then i take it back.)...

Everyone isn't at a point in life to profit from this downturn in the stock market. A huge swath of the population is just screwed.

you got it right Fek and thank you for correction--

I know exactly what you mean---Have made numerous attempts to warn Booby-smurph and other of whats coming down the line--politics aside. Would be scared to death to start in life out now--regardless of how much you do to get ahead or how much you do for your children so they can do the same--in ten years if things don't change your going to have 50% of population supporting themselves plus the other 50% and it will get worse from there. The days of the ole 80/20 rule of thumb are history.

+50% = venerable

-50% = vulnerable

Sick of Coddling the CEO's and Exec's and their Golden Parachuets? As far as I can see they don't seem any smarter than anybody else. Greedier and more crooked maybe but not smarter. I just had to throw that in.:)

Why did you feel to "throw that in"?

Was it not already covered?

Absolutely there is. Not everything in the world is ready for third world country production. We may have to rethink things and move beyond what got us to where we are, but we absolutely can compete with ANY country, plain and simple.

We may just need to face the facts that we can not be lazy ass Americans much longer.

I still can't understand how this could happen to anyone unless they lost their job.

Then you simply don't understand the root of the problem.

As stated several times here, there is HUGE blame to be layed on the people loaning the money. This starts at the top with the C-level execs all the way down to Joe Bob, the mortgage broker, that sold you the loan to make the commission.

It seems that you guys want to ignore that people ignored the facts about ARMs, lack of down payments, etc.

I don't get it. It's like you guys just want to lay 100% blame on this faceless entity called "greedy CEOs" without admitting that there is a personal accountability factor.

If we continue down that path, then we are destined to repeat this act again.

We absolutely must, as individuals, realize that we can not live on credit cards. Don't blame the banks for offering them to you. You are not "forced" to sign up for them.

Personal cut-backs are as necessary as corporate cutbacks.

If you are for CEO pay reform, then you better start looking at the CEO of your household for the same type cutbacks. I'm as guilty as the next guy living above my means, and it's time for me to re-evaluate those choices.

My over-arching point is that if you are laying all blame on "greddy CEOs" then I don't feel you have a good grasp of our current situation. All of us have been coddled as Americans. We have it really freaking great! Now it's time to pay the piper.
