run flea-flickers on navy with 4:00 to go when the game is out of reach, why dont you try to recruit better players so you dont get your brains beat in during big 12 play every year.

you really gotta laugh when your team is almost a .500 team and youre acting like monkeys in the end zone at the end of a bowl game against the naval academy

pretty funny.

im all for aggressive play-calling, but the guy is a joke quite honestly. not good enough to compete with the big boys in his conference, but will run it up on navy. lmao

I think Navy's coach wanted to deck him at midfield. Leach kept wanting to talk and pat his shoulders, but you could see Johnson wanted no part of it.

Mike Leach needs to focus on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. It's obviuos his offense has the ability to hang with top competition, but his defense is absolutely pathetic.

Didn't this same Navy team show no mercy against Army a couple of years ago? The sport isn't about holding hands & playing nice, you play a full 60 minutes each time & they did that.

Not with flea flickers with 4 minutes to go up 17 when every other play they call gains 5-10 yards. I'm sorry. No class.

totally different. if you cant stop the run, then what do you want the offense to do? heck, if tech woulda been marching down the field picking up chunks of yards in the rushing game, then thats navy's fault. the flea-flicker was a joke. tech was moving the ball with ease with the simple pass game. you mean to tell me they need to run flea-flickers with 4:00 to go? i dont buy the "they played full 60:00" nonsense. like i said, leach isnt good enough to have his team compete in the big 12, but he'll run it up on a service academy? lmao. every single play in that playbook was working for tech. you mean you gotta go with trick plays with 4:00 left? ridiculous.

There are too many babies in this sport. TT likes to throw all day in all kinds of ways & did just that. If something like that easily offends a coach etc then they should go play golf or something & stay away from the gridiron.

youre more than entitled to your opinion. we've all got em. but if you dont understand, youll never understand. has nothing to do with "holding hands" or "coaches being babies".

i guess i gotta take a stand here.
can you defend leach's decision to run a flea-flicker with 4:00 and the game out of reach and with symons about 30 of 35 for 350 yds at that point? what level of competitive football did you play where that logic would make sense? certainly nothing against you personally, but am interested in knowing

gman I agree with the comment but for you to make that post yet have a photo of Spurrier under your name is hypocritical to say the least

I have no problem with him trying to run up the score. The same people who bitch are probably the same ones who make a big stink about end zone celebrations. It is a game & winners don't always win like some would like but that is teh nature of the beast so either deal with it or don't be involved in it.

my opinion (if anyone cares) is....we gamble on the spread and the players and coaches know what the spread is, just like we do.
i for one am glad they drove down and scored again, so that navy would have to score twice to cover. if tech had laid down and played their weakness on offense, which is rush, navy would have probably held them, then had a chance of covering. so yes, since i bet on tech, im glad they got it in the endzone the last time.....JMO

Hell, I had TT for 2nd half also. Glad he didn't pull a Dave Wanstedt and laid down to be trampled over.

THIS IS FOOTBALL, not war ;)

ST and i go way back. i know hes busting my balls. cant say i disagree with him.

dont think ive ever seen him do that kind of garbage (flea-flickers with 4:00 to go and the game out of reach)

most aggressive coaches/teams (boise, florida, fsu, hawaii) will pass the ball a little but rarely take legit shots down the field on bombs.

leech is a bum. he's coaching a .500 team and cant compete in his conference but will run it up on navy.

if youre gonna run it up, at least be a good team

i'd say Leech competes pretty well in his conference.....Lubbock isn't exactly the place where powerhouses are built

as far as running it up, who cares...this isn't junior high girls basketball.....let the guys have fun and if you can't compete and cry about it, then don't show up
