I have 4 kids and this really bothers the me!! There is something to be said for starting young kids martial arts, at least it gives them somewhat of a chance. No parent can be with their kids 24/7.

I've got a 17-year old girl. I don't understand what is going on in these bastards heads...I really don't. It is so frustrating to hear about this kind of thing but we all feel so helpless.

I see why these states just get fed up and go with the 3 strikes you are out laws. If they would just exclude victimless drug crimes like possession from counting as a strike it would probably work.

I hope they got the right guy on this one. Too many times these DAs just pin stuff on some poor stiff without solid evidence.

What is really disturbing is how many psychos are walking around out there doing this crap. It truly boggles my mind. How can so many people have absolutley no problem with taking someone's life for no reason. I mean, why can't they just be happy buying a porn video and whackin off?

In clear-cut cases of absolute assured guilt I think quick death is too good for these bastards. I think we should put them against one another in gladiatorial contests to the death. That way the executioners would be each other and noone else will have to dirty their hands. Probably would want these "matches" only open to the same parties that are allowed to attend executions now.

the camera didn`t save that poor girl,but at least the family gets some closure(as little solace as that might be)......

there has to be dna evidence aside from the obvious visual evidence....

What does all this say about humanity? Obviously this guy has some serious issue's (putting it mildly), being willing to simply snuff out an innocent's life. A child no less. What is a just punishment for something like this? Who's feelings should be considered when you legalize the right to put someone down? Or even "how" they should die? I guess I agree that this sick f_ck dying will give some closure to the family, however I don't think it will lessen their pain. My point here is that the punishment needs to be a deterrent to the next sicko that has thoughts about raping/murdering someone. I don't know what the answer is there, but I can tell you that the current solution does not seem to work, as stuff like this happens every day in this world.

Certainly not sticking up for this guy as my personal opinion is that he needs to rot slowly, and painfully, rather then get it quick. It's humorous though, some of the opinions in this thread. Gladiators and shit!! That's funny, and a pretty good idea, but does it say something about our own psyche's, when we lust for someone who's committed awful crimes to get there just dessert in such a gruesome fashion?

i think what you`re hearing is the initial gut reaction of people that are left feeling extremely vulnerable and helpless by something as horrific as this.....

i do think that the death penalty,in an open and shut case(if there`s irrefutable evidence,this one would qualify),is a good thing if done in a timely manner....

years and endless appeals are nothing more than additional punishment for the family....and letting this animal sit inside a warm prison cell with t.v.,a library,access to computers and telephones for the rest of his natural life is not a fair punishment in my opinion.....if i were the parent in a case like this,i couldn`t handle the tought of this guy living decently and comfortably....,getting medical care....3 squares a day....i couldn`t handle that....

if that makes me a barbarian,then so be it...

btw,i understand that this scum`s parole officer wanted him off the street and some judge decided he shouldn`t be incarcerated......i don`t know the particulars here and will try and get the correct facts on this situation...

i just heard that the reason that the judge didn`t re-incarcerate this guy based on the probation officer`s request was that it was only a minor probation violation in regards to paying a fine.....

my bad....from what i`ve read,the judge wasn`t doing anything out of the ordinary.....

just thankful that this guy won`t be able to harm any other children....

Guess what folks....If technology.....through lighting, cell phones, video (security)cameras, DNA, forensics etc. etc. wasn't as good as it is today.........(They have to act as deterrents) we'd have an epidemic on our hands.......Thats scary!!

It wasn't like that 40-50 years ago.......So whats different??
For one thing...there was no crotch grabbing, dry hump, tittie flopping super bowl shows.......no internet (how many lives have been lost to internet predators) ......Society did not try to sell everything from beer to baskets using sexual inuendo.......Sitcoms never included themes glorifying sex, rather family values were the norm.
Divorce rate was 25% or so not 60%........Children having children was a rarity. ON and ON

Hey.......I'm no puritanical advocate.......but business and polotical leaders used to make decisions for THE COMMON GOOD. Today........if it sells.......If it can turn a profit...Its all good......
