Good Luck Ray. I have now not bet on sports for over 2 yrs. now so I know you can do it. It is hard to watch games that do not involve teams that you love or hate for that matter. Yes I still miss it but keep myself going by playing some very small fantasy action, which yes I know is gambling but I sure don't miss going to see the local every Tuesday to settle up. Or should I say to pay up. Will I ever do it again? Hard to say , but yes you do have a lot more times to do the other things in life. Good Luck Raymond.

Ray I really don't know you and I don't know if you are a winner or loser. But when I see the these words that are usually from someone who is buried and have hit bottom. I would suggest you start GA if you are really serious. It can be very beneficial in your life. It will give you the inner peace you are looking for.

GL Ray. Been in those shoes and thinking dilemma many times. The key to it all and not gambling is to stay away from the numbers, don't look at the USA Today lines in the sports papers, deter away from tip sheets, forums such as this one (it's addicting), balance out your day(s), spend more quality time doing things you enjoy doing and brings a smile and warmth to you, family time for example, go on a cruise or see family members ya ain't seen in a long while, anything to deter you from the "itch" to do it, gambling that is.

For me, I only bet on what I can afford, I only play what I feel I have the best opportunity to win at and at times it can't be more than time consuming crunching numbers because I do 99% of it by pen and paper and look up info on the internet, such as matchups with stats, etc., stay away from services to see what they are picking, who's hot and who's not, same with anything in this forum, who's hot and who's not, etc., don't take any sniffs of Hash's posts with the SUPER DANK in it, you may get high from second hand stuff, yanno, j/k Hash.....But truly, honestly, spend QT with those you love to be around.

If you have a favorite sport team, follow only them when they are on the groove tube, radio, or in person and don't get caught up in talk about numbers, cuz it will only drive you crazy.

Some folks resort to gambling to make money, plain and simple and some learn the hard way or end up busting rocks at the state pen.

Gambling can take away your dignity, create animosity towards your co-workers, your friends, your loved ones and doing analysis day in and day out 365 days 24/7, does make time fly by and it's not fun, but it's also a choice.

If you truly want to give it up for a year or forever....see if any advice I shared helps ya and if it did, drop me a line at my screen name at AOL.com

Must luck bud and thanks for sharing!!
