I'm not defending Becky in any way, but why is it a big deal?

I have a hard time listening to some guy who probably barely graduated from HS telling me how to run my life. The bottom line is that he failed to jump through the most basic hoops. A lot of people can't even get a good job with a degree. I'm supposed to listen to him debate people with PhDs? Its a pity really. :142smilie

So what's your degree in. Let me guess. Women's Studies with a minor in Political Bullscience..

Do you have a problem with Woman's Studies? It would be more impressive than Beck's resume. I guess we'll add woman to your list of bigotry.

Perfect EXAMPLE of the So Called EDUCATED ELITE THINKING THEY ARE BETTER THAN the WORKING MAN..
I have my EE degree and some of the most useless people I have ever been associated with are these pinhead Professers in Humanities I had the overwhelming displeasure of having to endure..
Jeezus, nothing worse than having a College Night out and having to get up and waste my precious sleep to listen to THEIR BIASED DRIVEL!

IT'S A PITY REALLY

It usually does sound like drivel if you haven't went to college.

Under a mask.
Would have to agree that getting an education is important but can some reach success without one??Of course.

My point is that to not have a degree is a joke. Doesn't mean you aren't intelligent. In fact I think college is a big joke. Education in this country is a joke. However if you want a seat at the big table you better have some credentials.

--and that wold be from Cyber University.

In the real world--if I get two resumes for a job

--and one has no degree but has worked at same job prior 10 years or more and prior employers says guy never missed a day--

--and one from guy with degree whose been at 5 jobs in last 10 years--that's as far as I need to look.

I'll take character/work ethics over a piece of paper every time.

Interesting list of people in this article--

Success without a College Degree

For years, I have heard and seen where people associate the lack of a college degree with a lack of intelligence. Ironically, this is usually used by small minded individuals who apparently can't win an argument using facts, so they try to discredit others with childish attacks and accusations. In any event, while education is important, intelligence has little to do with paper framed on the wall. This is a list of people who have been successful in a variety of fields without the benefit of graduating college. Rank who you believe is the most impressive success story, considering their education.

list--
