yup, they are many times. I've never been thru a major weather event, one that get folks saying it may be part of a trend, that gets splashed all over the headlines and you can then easily find some interview with a climatologist claiming the weather, perhaps, fits Global Warming.

the interviewers never ask the pertinent question, "is there ever any such dramatic weather events that do not seem to fit Global Warming?" Never seem to be....a fine example of the type of bias Stephen Jay Gould derisively called "shoehorning data".
