It's not like Manning had a sprained ankle. They knew what kind of injury he had, why wasn't a suitable backup already in place...

cant understand why they dont use c painter been under manning for 3 years knows the off .

the entirer front office fell asleep in the limo while Peyton drove.

not a QB on the team who can run the complicated yet deadly offense.

Only one player capable and he may be on the shelf forever.

Why would they want to bring someone else in?

This is a lost season no matter who they bring in, at least they can end up drafting Luck.

the ineptitude of the irsay clan has been masked for more than a decade by manning...

Tony was the perfect fit there GW

him and his staff molded that speed D to compliment the O.

but they clearly missed the boat for many years keeping Painter around and not grooming a more capable backup.

the Collins pickup so late does show how incompitent the Irsay's have been when it comes to the total football operations.

Cincy still holds his right.

Might want to go after Delhomme

Agree 100%. Why in the world wouldn't you do everything possible to make sure you get Luck? Collins acquisition was brilliant IMHO.

this team has deteriorated to the point of ridiculousness,bud........a decent team would still be relatively competitive.....

just shows how much manning covered the front offices blunders the last few years(a part of that was painter, who, imo was a terrible back-up qb...and they knew it)....manning was so good, everybody fell asleep....

it`s a bad,bad team........

Harder to get Luck than it would be Carson..... KC looks like front runner for Luck. They wont get a #1 for Palmer, but I would give up a #2

what happened over the last few years?........they used to give manning top notch complimentary talent(harrison/sanders/edgerrin james/freeney/wayne)...they just don`t seem to be replacing top caliber talent with equally talented players.....more like stop-gap guys........manning was still good enough to win with these guys.....

but now, without manning,it`s ridiculously bad...
