goalie info

Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals - Kolzig will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, reports the Washington Post.

Sebastien Caron, Pittsburgh Penguins - Caron will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils - Brodeur will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Islanders. We're making this assumption based on the fact that backup Corey Schwab felt ill on Tuesday and did not participate in the optional skate.

Kevin Weekes, Carolina Hurricanes - Weekes will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Penguins, reports the Durham Herald-Sun.

Pasi Nurminen, Atlanta Thrashers - Nurminen will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Byron Dafoe is suffering from a right groin strain and so Milan Hnilicka will be the backup.

Jose Theodore, Montreal Canadiens - Theodore will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Thrashers, reports RDS.

Jocelyn Thibault, Chicago Blackhawks - Thibault will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Red Wings.

Chris Osgood, New York Islanders - Osgood is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Devils.

Mike Dunham, New York Rangers - Dunham is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Capitals.

Manny Legace, Detroit Red Wings - Legace is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blackhawks, reports the Detroit News.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Giguere is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Ducks.

Steve Shields, Boston Bruins - Shields is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Panthers.

Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers - Luongo is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Bruins.

Tomas Vokoun, Nashville Predators - Vokoun was a late minute scratch on Tuesday due to a case of the flu so rookie Jan Lasak started in his place, his first start of the season.

player info

Pavel Bure, New York Rangers - There's been a Russian Rocket sighting in New York as Bure is scheduled to start skating in the next few days, likely increasing the chance of a potential return before the All-Star break. He has missed over a month of action due to double knee surgery but both he and coach Bryan Trottier are optimistic at the progress he has made in recent days and weeks.

Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins - Lemieux told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he will probably stay off skates for at least a couple days, which means he will return this weekend at the earliest. As reported before, he is out for Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes.

Tom Poti, New York Rangers - Poti, who missed the Rangers' last game against the Leafs with a neck strain, practiced fully on Tuesday and is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Capitals.

Bryan Smolinksi, Los Angeles Kings - Smolinksi underwent eye surgery on Monday to fix a scratched left cornea and will not play until next week at the earliest.

Scott Walker, Nashville Predators - Walker left Tuesday's game against the Canucks after being hit in the right knee by a slapshot. Although initial fears were that he tore ligaments, Walker was able to return later in the game and is set to be re-evaluated on Wednesday though the Predators expect him to be fine

Adrian Aucoin, New York Islanders - Aucoin suffered a minor groin strain late in Monday's game and is listed as day-to-day but probably won't play on Wednesday according to the New York Daily News.

Joe Thornton, Boston Bruins - Thornton will not play on Wednesday against the Panthers, but is expected to rejoin the team on Thursday at which time he will practice and hopefully suit up for Friday's game against the Thrashers. He has already resumed skating and will receive his final IV treatment Wednesday morning.

David Tanabe, Carolina Hurricanes - Tanabe participated in practice on Tuesday, but coach Paul Maurice stated that he will likely miss one more game.
