Friday, January 17
Jocelyn Thibault, Chicago Blackhawks - Thibault will be the starter for Friday's game against the Canucks, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
Sebastien Caron, Pittsburgh Penguins - Caron will be the starter for Friday's game against the Lightning, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
John Grahame, Tampa Bay Lightning - Grahame is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Penguins, reports the St. Peterburg Times. This makes sense to us as Grahame is undefeated in his career against Pittsburgh.
Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals - Kolzig is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Maple Leafs, reports the Washington Post.
Pasi Nurminen, Atlanta Thrashers - Nurminen is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Bruins.
Dan Cloutier, Vancouver Canucks - Cloutier is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Blackhawks, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
Steve Shields, Boston Bruins - Shields is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Thrashers.
Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils - Brodeur is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Hurricanes.
Kevin Weekes, Carolina Hurricanes - Weekes is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Devils.
Ed Belfour, Toronto Maple Leafs - Belfour did not practice on Thursday due to what the Leafs coaching staff terms "routine body maintenance" (whatever that means). Since the Leafs love to be unbelievably secretive about their injuries, it is not known if there is anything wrong with Belfour.
Corey Schwab, New Jersey Devils - Schwab has overcome the minor viral infection he was suffering from, practiced on Thursday and will make the trip to Carolina for Friday's game against the Devils. Even though the two teams play on back-to-back nights, it remains to be seen whether Schwab is awarded a start.

Alexander Mogilny, Toronto Maple Leafs - Mogilny is suffering from a deep bone bruise in his foot and did not practice Thursday. He told the Toronto Sun that he won't even travel with the team on their upcoming mini road trip which means he is going to miss two games unless he suddenly wakes up and feels better.
Mikael Renberg, Toronto Maple Leafs - Renberg, who has missed eight games with a badly infected hand, practiced on Thursday and is optimistic about playing Friday against the Capitals. His hand is feeling fine, but his conditioning still is not 100% and as such, you should probably wait a few games before activating him.
Gary Roberts, Toronto Maple Leafs - Roberts, out with surgery to both of his shoulders, is expected to begin practicing with the Leafs very soon and coach Pat Quinn pegged his return as being three weeks away. That would mean he should return very soon after the All-Star break.
Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins - Lemieux did not participate in the Penguins' 30-minute workout on Thursday and is consequently listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Lightning. We're guessing that as long as the Penguins continue to win, Lemieux will opt to take his time recovering from the groin pull.
Luc Robitaille, Detroit Red Wings - Robitaille was a healthy scratch for Thursday's big matchup against the Avalanche. The sure-fire future Hall-of-Famer has struggled mightily this season scoring only four goals and 19 pts. Robitaille won't get much icetime as long as he is playing with the Wings and there is a lot of question marks whether he has much left in the tank so your best bet would be to avoid him in all fantasy leagues.
Brad Stuart, San Jose Sharks - Stuart, on injured reserve due to torn ligaments in his ankle, will attempt to skates this weekend after saying that his ankle has started to feel a little bit better. He is probably still at least one week away from returning though.
Keith Tkachuk, St. Louis Blues - Tkachuk was slapped with a gross misconduct penalty after Thursday's game against the Islanders for what we assume were derogatory comments aimed towards the referees. He will probably end up getting fined for his actions, but won't be suspended or anything in case anyone was wondering.
Joe Thornton, Boston Bruins - Thornton has been practicing for the past three days and will return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Thrashers, reports the Boston Globe.
Hal Gill, Boston Bruins - Gill was struck in the cheek by a puck during practice and had to get stitches. However, he is expected to play on Friday against the Thrashers.
Maxim Afinogenov, Buffalo Sabres - Afinogenov practiced on Wednesday, albeit without contact, and is reportedly close to returning to action. He needs to be cleared to engage in physical play and should return soon after if he suffers no setbacks.
