Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils - Brodeur will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Capitals, reports the Bergen Record.

Zac Bierk, Phoenix Coyotes - Bierk will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Kings, reports the Arizona Republic.

Patrick Lalime, Ottawa Senators - Lalime will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, reports the official Senators site.

Dwayne Roloson, Minnesota Wild - Roloson is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blackhawks.

Marty Turco, Dallas Stars - Turco is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blues.

Brent Johnson, St. Louis Blues - Johnson is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Stars.

Tommy Salo, Edmonton Oilers - Salo is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Ducks.

Jocelyn Thibault, Chicago Blackhawks - Thibault is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Wild.

Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers - Luongo is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Mike Dunham, New York Rangers - Dunham is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Senators.

Evgeni Nabokov, San Jose Sharks - Nabokov is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes.

Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals - Kolzig is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Devils.

Jamie Storr, Los Angeles Kings - Storr is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Coyotes.

Trevor Kidd, Toronto Maple Leafs - Kidd is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Panthers. We're just assuming this because Kidd usually plays against the Panthers, but if anyone in the Toronto area has information to support or refute this, please send it along.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Canucks.

Byron Dafoe, Atlanta Thrashers - Dafoe is scheduled to make his first start in almost a month this Friday against the Devils. He has missed considerable time this year with assorted groin injuries.

Sebastien Caron, Pittsburgh Penguins - As some of you may already know, with Johan Hedberg set to return from injury, the Penguins will have to make a decision later on this week on which goaltender to keep on their roster out of Caron and veteran Jean-Sebastien Aubin. Though coach Rick Kehoe has not blatantly stated anything, the odds are that Caron will be the one who will get to stay in Pittsburgh.

Manny Fernandez, Minnesota Wild - Fernandez has skated and practiced for the past two days and his previously injured knee has held up fine in both instances. Despite the encouraging news, Fernandez is not expected to play in a game for about another week.

Sean Burke, Phoenix Coyotes - Burke is ready to return from a sprained knee, but will wait another week for precautionary reasons. We're guessing that Zac Bierk's strong play also factored into that decision.

player info

Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche - The Avalanche medical team revealed yesterday that Sakic's recovery from a broken foot is going slower than planned and he may be out for another four weeks. He suffered the injury on January 23 and the original prognosis was one month but the actual bone is taking a lot longer to heal.

Kenny Jonsson, New York Islanders - Jonsson left Tuesday's game against the Flyers after one shift due to a bodycheck by Jeremy Roenick. The Islanders termed his injury as a "post-traumatic migraine" which probably means he has headaches. It may sound relatively harmless, but it is actually bad news for Jonsson because he has suffered numerous concussions in his career.

Marian Hossa, Ottawa Senators - Hossa did not make the trip to New York due to the flu and will not play on Wednesday against the Rangers. The high-scoring winger could be back over the weekend.

Simon Gagne, Philadelphia Flyers - Gagne returned from a groin injury on Tuesday, only to re-injure it with four minutes remaining in the game. He is out for the game on Thursday against the Senators but wouldn't predict when he will be able to return.

Eric Daze, Chicago Blackhawks - The all-star break didn't help Daze's sore groin as he did not practice on Tuesday and is doubtful to play on Wednesday against the Wild.

Jason Allison, Los Angeles Kings - Allison (hip) did not practice on Tuesday and will not play on Wednesday against the Coyotes but is expected to return on Friday.

Tony Amonte, Phoenix Coyotes - As reported yesterday, Amonte is expected to return on Tuesday against the Kings. He has missed time due to bruised ribs.

Dan McGillis, San Jose Sharks - McGillis will return to the Sharks' lineup on Wednesday when they play the Hurricanes. He missed four games due to a strained right knee.

Brian Leetch, New York Rangers - Leetch did not skate for a second consecutive day but insisted that it was not due to a setback or re-aggravation. Instead he said his ankle was just a little sore over the weekend, also adding that he plans to get back on the ice Wednesday.

Pavel Bure, New York Rangers - At the suggestion of coach/GM Glen Sather, Bure was back on the ice skating with his teammates on Tuesday. He re-iterated that his left knee (the one that was sprained in December) is totally pain free but his right knee (which has a history of trouble) continues to bother him.

Shawn McEachern, Atlanta Thrashers - McEachern practiced for the first time on Monday since suffering a groin strain on January 19. He is expected back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Devils.

Sean O'Donnell, Boston Bruins - O'Donnell will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a knee injury during Tuesday's loss to the Avs. Though he will undergo an MRI later today, the assumption is that he has a strained MCL. The Bruins will likely recall a defenseman in the next few days and it is possible that man could be newly acquired and highly touted Jeff Jillson.

Sergei Samsonov, Boston Bruins - Samsonov began his rehab from wrist surgery on Tuesday, riding a stationary bike. He is expected to get his cast taken off in one week after which his hand will be placed in a smaller cast for 4-6 weeks. Samsonov hopes to begin skating sometime during that span and estimates that after the second cast is taken off, he would need about 2-4 more weeks of rehab. If you add all the numbers up, it means there is a slight chance he could be back by the end of the regular season but it's anyone's guess how effective he will be.

Chris Gratton, Buffalo Sabres - Gratton will be cleared for non-contact practice on Wednesday and the hope is that he will then be cleared for full-contract practice the next day, meaning a return for Friday's game against the Canucks is a definite possibility.

Oleg Tverdovsky, New Jersey Devils - Tverdovsky was placed on injured reserve yesterday, retroactive to January 15. The Devils are preparing for Tverdovsky to be sidelined for a lengthy period of time, perhaps the reset of the season.
