SUCKS!!

Just did this for the first time ever. Bill was over 200 bucks instead of the usual 70 or so. That really angers me. Would be nice to get a call or a text message that alerts you to this. I guess I'm not the first person that has done this. I just changed my plan, lol, so hopefully this won't happen again. Oh well, lesson learned. I'm going to have to start keeping up with these minutes on the 'net. I'm already over on my current bill too that ends on 7/12, but the lady I called was "nice" enough to retro my new plan to 6/11 so I won't have these overage charges. Bite me, Cingular!

Cell phone service sucks! I pay at least 240 every month. That includes having unlimited text, internet, and 50 picture messages a month.

you should have a 'time' on your phone. I have nextel and just re-set my timer each month. It monitors all 'usage' time so you can monitor your minutes

If you agreed to up your plan, they should have helped you out on some of the overages. Ive been though this many times. I have 3000 minutes a month and its barely enough (2 lines). Be glad you dont sell insurance! My average monthly statement is between 150-200 :scared . I get reimbursed 100 a month thankfully from my employer.

I got the roll over minutes with cingular. somehow I accumulated
5000 minutes and I can talk long distance and forever it seems.

I use about 2000 a month and it cost me 100 for me and my wifes phone.

Yea really! Without it though I would have to sit in the office and field calls, or have the expense of a secretary. It allows me many freedoms at my job. We have toyed 5 or 6 times with turning our home phone off. It almost never rings since the do not call list was implemented. People always call our cells. Why pay 40.00 a month for a land line??

The thing is, it doesnt cost them a dime more if you talk on that phone 1 minute a month or 1,000. Cingular is the all time worst cell phone carrier IMO. Shit, even my Dad has one, and he refuses to get a computer  Also, I had a gas attendent come running out of the store screaming at me a few days ago yelling" hang up, hang up!" I thought she meant the pump so I did and she said "I mean the PHONE!" You cant use that while you are pumping gas, its listed right here, and sure as shit there was a big sticker on the pump :142smilie I bet she gets a workout during the day chasing people off their phones :142smilie She would really love Jack who steps back and lights a cig :nono:

new girl in your life or what?

nope, still the same old one, lol! Only thing I can figure is that when I first signed up for my plan, I got all kinds of rollover minutes. I've probably been going over for a while now, but I get an ebill only, and it's paid automatically, so I never look at it. I guess I've just been using it more, and my wife has been on several trips, so she's really been using hers too. 45 cents a minute for each minute over really sucks, I do know that.

I've thought this many, many times. Even the reddest of rednecks here have a cell phone. I had to stand in a long line at the clerk's office 2 weeks ago to renew my car tags, and I think everybody in the line had a cell phone that they used at some point during the wait.

When we moved into our house where I am at now, I had a home phone for about 3 months and then realized it was stupid, and we were paying like 60 a month with no long distance. Some sh*tty carrier named Verizon :nono: :nono:

So we turned it off since we don't have an alarm who needs it with two dogs that sleep all day

And continue to use Cingular, funny story everytime I talk to Agent, I always have crappy reception, but never with anyone else that I talk to. I think there are two parts of it, one, cingular realizes I am talking to Agent and two Verizon must have half a dead zone over the mansion he lives in :mj07: :mj07:

IMO Verizon Sucks, I love Cingular and Roll Over

Considering I'm the only person that ever bothers to answer when you call, that COULD be the reason right there!

If I lean back in my recliner upstairs, I automatically lose the call every time. That is the ONLY dead spot I have ever found with Verizon  Must be a parallel universe right there or some shit

#MIN (Gives almost up to the minute how many peak minutes you are at)

I have Verizon and check my minutes every few days. Donna's son was Horrible at this, so I too learned the hard way. Never again. (free call too!)

out of curiousity does anyone use fewer minutes than this-

Cingular $25/100 plan--minutes included in plan 100--minutes
used 6-- total charge $33.32

-----------
Above was Jan bill--was going to cancel and go to card that you only pay for minutes used--but when I called Cingular to cancel they agree to add me to my wifes plan for $19.99 since I had been with them over eight years.

lol! :142smilie

I've had long distance phone bills from my land line that were less than 5 minutes BEFORE I owned a cell phone bill. Nothing like getting a long distance bill for 25 cents. Now, I just send my long distance carrier about 20 bucks at a time to keep from getting the house cluttered with those stupid bills less than 2 dollars.
