Thinking about going to Boston sometime mid Sept 3-4 days. We will fly in & not getting a car, what part of Boston is the best place to stay ? $300 a nite max. Want to take a tour of Fenway if possible maybe go out on boat for some whale watching & view some historic sites. We are not into fine dining or bars ( unless good food ). I've been to Boston once over 20 yrs. ago delivering a customers furniture, what a fuking nitemare driving a truck in that city. Obviously this will be quite different. Any help appreciated.

Hilton back bay is an excellent property.

They have several great places to eat just down the street. I can't remember the names of the restaurants but there is a row of restaurants and shops near by in the back Bay Area

The food is tremendous and the bars and cool as fuck

I highly recommend checking out a Red Sox game

Boston is an awesome city, use the T to get around during the day and cabs at night.....We've stayed at The Copley a few times and has also been great, plus it's an easy walk to Fenway....Catch the Cask & Flagon right behind the Green Monster for a cold one and app.....Haymarket Square & Faneuil Hall are two stops we try to make each time we head down......China Town has some great food, I'd stay away at night....

Enjoy

Bub & Sports thanks for the info. When I start to add up the cost of 3-4 days room. air, eats, tours, cabs & misc. we are looking around $ 2000- 2500 Fuk. We might have to re-think this trip. Thanks !

Would look at staying in Copley Square. The theater District, ChinaTown ok during the day but yes stay away at night. They have some very pricey hotels in The Theater District. Stay away terrible section. I work there and we cannot believe the prices these hotels are asking. Copley Square good bet.

Sport thanks for the inexpensive options but staying in stranger's house would not be very comfortable.I know if I contacted my cousin who lives in N, Attleboro we would be welcome . But I'm still staying in someones house & would feel uncomfortable. Thanks again

Steve thanks, Sport also recommended The Copley. I checked the prices for 3 nights inc. tax close to $ 1800, way too much. I'm not cheap but that is crazy . As I said earlier we are rethinking this adventure, might go back to Montreal & Quebec last time really enjoyed both. Thanks again

Above the Clouds....
We're staying at the Boston Park Plaza on Labor day weekend. The rate is $229 + tax per nite. I don't know if it's close to anything you want to do but that's the rate we got. We've done the aquarium and thought it was one of the better, did a cruise on the Charles and also did Fanuel Hall. Lots to do there. have fun!

I checked the Plaza $ 469 before tax for mid Sept. dates. You got a great rate, enjoy.

Thanks Cie, we decided to shit can Boston. My thoughts are with the people affected by the flooding. We can destroy & rebuild then destroy & rebuild Iraq again but when domestic help is needed good luck. Take care !
