Fatdaddy... Thanks for the info. especially thr tower of london it was on our list of places ... just trying to narrow it down. Great idea for Paris. At first wasn't to keen on the idea of going on this trip but now looking forward to the experience. Thanks for taking the time & passing the info.

Mover,
To be quite honest with you I have been a number of times to both and you can really enjoy the trip if you get into where you are at if you know what I mean. Forgot to mention that in the middle of Paris there is a sort of shopping plaza yet it is more like a couple of office buildings. You really cant miss it, it is dead in the center of town. If possible go to the fourth floor and there is a little cafe on the roof access elevator there. Absolutely the best view of Paris in the town, very cool. I love Europe brother and so will you if you want to. Lots to look at and the women are beautiful so bring some mirrored shades and learn to look sideways.
Cheers

When I asked if I had broken any laws, the question repeatedly went unanswered. I was denied contacting anyone and denied legal counsel.

I hope you are never detained against your will and denied your basic rights Scott. It's not a good feeling.

I tell you one thing. There is no way in hell that I would not have proceeded on to Ireland for my vacation.

Why you allowed them to deport you back to Canada is beyond me. You should have had the Canadian embassy on the phone.

Maybe you need a class in foreign travel and your rights to go on a vacation.

In London, I'd recommend Terminal 3, Terminal 1, and the interrogation room in the basement of Heathrow./GM

Uhh, Scott... they didn't exactly offer me alternatives. "Gee Mr. M., we're not going to let you in, but perhaps you'd prefer Ireland, or maybe we could interest you in France?". It wasn't quite like that.

They detained me and deported me and didn't allow me to contact ANYBODY, they didn't ask if I would prefer the 3:15 or the 4:30 flight to Dublin. I really didn't have a lot of say in the matter. Of course I know I was entitled to fair treatment, but there was no means to access it. Easy to say I should have just been on the phone to the Canadian Embassy. Ya know, I'd have REALLY liked to do that. As I said (if you read it), my rights were denied. I repeatedly asked for a lawyer and to make phone calls. What exactly do you think I should have done? Tackled the guards who were holding me and made a run for it?
