I am not saying that WV is that good even after beating a overrated BC team.

But I watched that Pitt game and Vill seems undersized and
skippy. And Pitt played horrible.

what am i missing?

remember the seals.

Raymond, I believe it is like stealing also!!! Rebounding is WVU weakness and Villanova is going to pound them inside. Pittsnogle had 0 rebounds yesterday. Nova has quicker big men who will stick him. The guards will be up in the face of the shooters. I see Nova by 25!!! Thanks, for all your work Raymond!!

What is the meaning of RPI?

RPI is Ratings Percentage Index. It is used as a tool by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee to help them in their quest to choose At-Large teams (teams who do gain an Automatic Bid by failing to win their conference tournament) to fill the field of 65.

How is RPI calculated?

The RPI formula is: 0.25 x (Winning Percentage) + 0.50 x (Opponents' Average Winning Percentage) + 0.25 x (Opponents' Opponents' Winning Percentage)

Is it a handicapping factor?

It can be. Generally, an RPI rank of 40 or higher is considered a must for At-Large consideration. Generally, teams comfortably within that rank have been able to ??afford? to lose in their conference tournament and still receive an At-Large NCAA berth. However, this has not been written in stone.

Conference Tournament Matchups

For as yet undetermined matchups, here is a guide on how to begin rating games played in quarterfinals, semifinals and finals rounds: Compare each side?s Winning Points Conference Tournament rating, which will include the home-court edge for any team playing the tournament on its home floor or in its home city. Team with higher rating would be our favorite, by the size of the difference between the two ratings. Check the Power Rating table to factor coaching ratings.

It is amazing this line isn't 10. First off, you have the proximity from Philly to Manhattan as being only an hour drive, give or take. Then you have the conference winning streak of the 'Cats, currently sitting at seven, winning six of those seven against the spread as well. Thirdly, these same 'Cats beat the Mountaineers 84-46 earlier this year in a game that was over at the half with 'Nova leading by 20. The Wildcats shot 53% in that game to W Virginia's 27% shooting on 15-55 from the floor. Pittsnogle has turned into a special player for the Mountaineers, but when you have a team of Pittsnogle's in Ray, Sumpter, Foye and others on the Wildcats, this isn't a game anymore. It is a destruction. Just like the first game between these two teams, this one is blowout from the opening tip.
