Leaving for West Point in about an hour for the Army-Temple game...rush job today...

Temple +6 over Army ****
Both teams are a combined 1-7 with owls 0-4.But Temple won the UConn game but a bad call cost them .
Army defense is great.They have held some good teams to low scores.But Army offense is unreal.No running game,Williams is the qb but is so inconsistent.The problem today is the Army OL.It is in shambles and two new starters will make there debut today.Everyone is switching positions also with the shuffle.Cox moves from LT to RT,Quink a 2nd string center moves to LG,Weich a frosh moves to Rg....and on and on and on...Forget running game..Army has no Rb's,OL is in a playing musical chairs..QB whose favorite TV show is " Lost" which he is... on 3rd and 4 or 2nd and 5....
Temples offense isn't that bad.They really beat UConn...last week vs BGreen there mobile Qb DiMichle had 300 yds.he moves alround all over.Harper there solid RB is back..he will break for a few long gains..Temple gave BG a good game..and navy..did get blown away by buffalo..Temple defense isn't that great but against an army offense they should control them somewhat.
Think this game will be very close with temple winning by a few.Love the line +6. should be a pick'in or temple -1 or 2.With temple scoring 35 pts vs BG and Army's offense ranked 115th out of 119...close game. Esp when Temples offense is ranked 109th..Armys only win was vs D-2 URI in OT. temple has a mobile qb and a good running back..army has neither...
I will be at the game on the 50 yd line wearing my Phillies baseball hat....now lets talk about my Phillies...love it...need to just hang in there for two more games...

Arkansas -35 over North Texas ****
Hogs lost to Bama and kentucky in past 2 weeks. Nutt on the hot seat.McFadden on the Heisman run will pad his numbers today vs one of the worst defenses in the country.OU had there guy score 5 td's vs NT.NT defense has given up 79 pts to OU,45 to smoo and 30 to FAU.Hog need a big blowout and mcFadden and company will still be in the game in the 4th qrt.NT's spread offense with 5 WR's can score. But not against Hog defense.Score 55-14..
Gotta run...did great last week going 4-0 with my 4 **** boxes...only 2 **** today and I will be at one of them.

Have bad news,bad news,good news and great news....
Bad news 1.
First of all the Temple-Army game was a nightmare.Temple out played them,was the better team,etc,etc.. Army scores 3 td's on kickoff return,punt return and a fumble recovery on the 2 yd line and taken in for a TD. That's 21 pts...ahhh
But being in Michie Stad was worth the trip.one of my friends sons is a plebe and we got to sit with him.Had such a good time even though I lost a few boxes...

bad news 2.
Freak'in Phillies...Mets win and we can't beat the Nationals...so today is the big day.Think both win today and it's a playoff game tomr..What can you say to a team that has lost over 10,000 games.

Good news...won big with Arkansas and Hawaii winning big.Pounded Ark for a few more boxes trying to make up for the Army game..

Great news...my daughter who is going to graduate school in Philly and subbing was offered teaching job in the city...she starts next week...and she will make a good grade school teacher...her friends and roommates ask her why she is a Philly fan since she came from NY....her answer was..." you don't know my father".."I have pictures of myself, my 2 sisters and brother in the crib,on the beaches,at games,etc...with all of us wearing red hats with a 'P" on it. It's called the Stockholm Snydrome.....brainwashing....
Good luck in todays game..My son kept calling me last nite from a bar in Greenville during the Houston-ECU game. He said Houston missed 2 FG's at the end and ECU won...and I passed on that game...Go Phillies....

Hey Box,
How's it going with the "Hudson Valley Box"
It's an exciting time for you and yours what with the Phillies and all.
Temple cost me yesterday as well...had em + and ML. Had a few nice Ws so not a bad day overall.
There are precious few enjoyments in this area quite like a day at Michie Stadium on a day like yesterday. This is the first year in quite a while that I haven't made that trip.
Hope all is well at your school...I'm in my 3rd year of retirement already and busier than ever. Its all good here!
Hoops just around the corner eh ..but I'm enjoying the CT football so far...They're good but now their real season begins. I think they are going to be competitive with all in the BE. We'll see?
