OK boys, going to Vegas in a couple of weeks with 4 friends, for one of their 40th birthdays. We're all about the same age, we will most likely stay at the Tropicana...can get it for about $ 130 a nite. Haven't been to Vegas for a couple of years...looking for some feedback on the following:

-Tropicana-OK, dirty, should we stay somewhere else?

-Bars-don't want to go to a bar and feel like we're shaperons but would like to see some scenery

-Strip clubs-have been to Peppermint Rhino..beautiful girls but spent a lot in a hurry. any recommendations?

-Any other recommendations

Pretty much know where to gamble, watch games, etc.

Thanks all!!!!!!

Try booking your rooms through priceline and you guys could stay at a 5 star hotel on the strip for around $130 a night instead of the Tropicana.

I've got nothing but good things to say about the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana. Obviously it's a little hit-or-miss depending on who is performing, but for under $20, well worth a visit.

What are your dates? That rate seems absurd!

I'll check other options when you post your arrival date and check-out date.

P.S. How many per room?

Nole, that's what I thought, but there must be something going on there that weekend. I've been all over....orbitz, priceline, worrm, you name it. Found a pretty good site that helped out...Cheapovegas.com.

thanks for the suggestions fellas....staying on the strip as it's the birthday boy's first time to Vegas.

Check this site out and read the hotel FAQ, it will help you get the best deal using priceline. Just an fyi, even though priceline will say the min price for a 5 star, you can bid below that price. I always use priceline and get killer deals on nice hotels.

Spearmint Rhino is still the best. Scores just opened a couple weeks ago but I heard it needs a lot of work still.

Scores has $30 cover, then "VIP Seating" where you pay $600 for a table and a bottle of bubbly (oversize, yet not a magnum). Then some broad will sit down at your table and talk to you for 15 minutes before she tells you she gets $100 to sit there for the full hour.

Would not recommend Scores. Girls are impersonal, jaw grinders, who are not successful at suspending your belief that it's not really just about the money. Cab driver will tell you it's better than the rhino and even give you a free fare to Scores. Nice marketing ploy I gotta admit!
