Was talking to Jack About this. I'm tall but swing standard length clubs.

It's cheaper to buy a new set than the lengthen current one.

Looking for a new set no more than 700.

Anybody have a recommendation?

Still very happy with my Taylor Made Burner irons - been playing them for a few years. I'd suggest going to a store and swinging a few - I think clubs are a very personal thing, and it's tough to suggest something for someone else. I put a pretty high premium on what the club looks like when I'm addressing the ball, if the club doesn't look and feel right to me, I'm probably never going to really like it. Maybe a small thing, but I think having something you like looking at and feel confident about is pretty important.

And of course how it feels hitting the ball... but sometimes that's tough to know if you don't get to hit them much.

Woody: Go to a place and get fitted. Different players need different things. I like Callaway and Ping but not all of their models are right for me.

Yep, Woody, go to Pro Golf discount here in ATL, try all they have, do it a couple different days to REALLY make sure you hit what you like different times, then decide where is best to purchase for you.

got a set of Mizuno MX200 late last summer from Golfsmith. They will fit them for you. Great set of irons. Just wish I had a swing to match.

Mizuno MP30, probably gonna get fitter for a new set this year.

I recommend going somewhere you can hit a bunch of different irons, especially out into a range so you can actually see ball flight too. Fitted clubs make a world of difference, and I agree with Gary...everyone is different so try as much as you can. Good Luck and let us know what you get man

wow a lot of people playing Mizuno and most are hacks :mj07: just kidding!

Woody, I have some of the best clubs that you could buy that I may consider selling...original copper Pings 1-SW with an upright loft for taller players

but I think you should get some fitted clubs with an inch longer shaft for your height AND you will hit them further ... you also need to get cavity back irons with perimeter weighting :0074

but what do I know:shrug:
