I've been sterring clear of Philly and horses lately, except for not-so-serious bets on the first two Triple Crowners. That there Cal Chrome hoss is ruining all the fun. Thought I'd take a peek at a track I know much better, Philadelphia Park, today and it won't be easy keeping my hands off the wallet for the last 3 races. Field sizes are decent enough. May not bet a thing, but thought I'd share the picks and see if I can nail an exacta or just see if I can hit a winner in each of those races with 3 picks....

7th race: I'm VERY familiar with every horse in this race cept the nos. 2 and 4. I like the favorite, no. 5 but gotta also consider nos. 3 and 8.

8th race: Unlike the 7th, I'm not so familiar with these, but I gotta mention a horse that'c coming off it's maiden win in this race. Normally, I throw out horses that come off their maiden win ESP. if they're moving up in class after that maiden win, but no. 3's, Wise Remark, last race is pretty impressive. And that was it's only race. Surely worth a shot at 10-1 M.L. Other two would be no. 7 with "Mooch" onboard and no. 8 at 5-1.

9th race: This one is really competitive between a field mostly made up of genuine Philly dirt bombs. Nos. 1 and 2 get my top billing, 4/1 and 6/1 respectively and gimme no. 7 as my 3rd pick.

That's it... getting a little interested in Philly action again.. ut oh.

Good to seeya DT

Good to seeya DT

Great news - glad you did some winning while I'm on vacation, DT.

Even better news - I probably missed out on some losing ;)

I dabbled around with Monday's picks since I had the time to watch the "Playables".

Let's see..... .

7th: Caught the wiener, $5.60 and missed the zacta when my exacta facta got 3rd instead of second.

8th: Collected scwatch money on the no. 7. Not sure, but I got a feeling that something went wrong with that no. 3 I wrote about. Got bet down BIG TIME and was right up there with the leaders down the backstretch and was looking GOOD. Lost tract of him after that and see he finished last. HUH? Just saw the "Quick Result" not the chart yet. More about this race below.

9th: No. 2 was on every one of my tickets and got all back on account of the scwatch. BTW, with the scratch of the no. 2, the next plick woulda been the wiener, Serene Queen ($14.20). That horse is a certified, genuine Philly dirt BOMB. I just accepted the scratch moola back and didn't "run to the window" to get her upon seeing the no. 2 was out of the race. Too bad, pretty sure the 3<-->1 ($57) woulda been on one of my zackta tickets. Oh well, I definitely liked the no. 2 the best and besides - I'm still on hossy vacation anyway. :)

Now, asfaras that 8th race goes, MJers... we don't have to only chase the Triple Crowners or Breeders (UGH!) clones to hit a jackpot; there's jackpots to hit with them Philly dirt bombs. How about today's PLAYABLE 8th race f'rinstance -

Wiener pays $64

Zacta: $1167 WOW!
.
.
oh, and the Tri: $7,276 HOLY SHIT SKIES :scared:

Oh yeah, that race was "PLAYABLE" alright; all ya hadda do is come up with the right horses or numbers :cursin:

I didn't even bother to see what the Zuppa paid.

G.L. with all them wieners, DT.
