interesting article, just finished reading a great book called Stung. They made a movie on it, and many critics call it the best of the year. have not seen it, the book is fantastic about Maloney, a problem gambler. great book about the biggest bank fraud in cdn. history.

From the above statements you make a determination that what he is saying is football is the most popular sport in America because of betting.

He says nothing in the article to prove that as fact.

Maybe its the most popular sport because most men have played it and understand it better. Maybe it is the easiest to follow for alot of people. Maybe it is the most exciting play after play. I don't think that its quite fair to think that football is the most popular sport because so many people gamble on it. We gamble on alot of games but millions of people follow there teams and never lay down a wager. Don't just put all of America in that category without further proof.

I just don't think alot of thought went into it if thats what he was trying to say.

He got his recorder stuck by repeating football is best for betting.

Well no shit Sherlock.

Sounds like he is impatient waiting to lay his first wager on football season. And lets not forget one thing.

yeh I remember NBA and I can't wait now for football.

Everything is in place now. I have saved up a good stake this year for football. I hope to hang in there with it through the entire season.

I lost again this year in baseball no matter who I followed or what I played. I got pissed and quit after losing a grand.

As the football season approachs, I smell money and it smells green.

This season not only will we smash them but we will slam it down and I mean hard !

Beantown, Jack doesn't pay me a dime. I have taken some lumps recently but as a recognized and respected gambler, surely you know that it is winning over a lifetime, not 45 plays, that makes a gambler a success.

Gonna side with Nick on issue of slump which everyone goes through. I have to respect a man that documents his plays and records them for all to view. Common sense would say he believes in himself or would not be doing so.

--about "football being best for betting" I will agree if you are the book.

Can't think of any sport where they offer no juice-1/2 juice ect just to get as much action as they can. Think they are trying to tell us something but few will listen.
Flip side in lesser known sports they tack on extra juice,some 30% plus just to try and stay in the black.
