Roger Goodell would suck at poker. He is as obvious as a Pamela Anderson dress ? as disingenuous as they come; yet he keeps his $35M per year job in the ivory tower of 345 Park Avenue. Why? Because he helps to keep the wallets of NFL owners overflowing with dead presidents.Perhaps you are old enough to remember how hesitant the league was to move franchises back in a day. There was a time when the owners had empathy for communities and moving a franchise was akin to a Catholic cursing the Pope. Not any more!If it adds to the league?s bottom line, ?Do it!? No holds barred. And so they have done it to St. Louis, a city that worked hard to put together a new and worthy package to keep the Rams, only to have their proposal summarily dismissed and filed away as a lucrative Plan B in the event another team might consider moving, assuming of course it makes fiscal sense to Goodell and his 32 bosses. The NFL grows dirtier by the day and at some point fans will reach their breaking point if Goodell keeps pushing the pedal of greed. And for now, he does so with a smile, poker face or no poker face.Footnote

Article 4.3 of the NFL Constitution and Bylaws states, ?? no club has an ?entitlement? to relocate simply because it perceives an opportunity for enhanced club revenues in another location.? Section A of the league?s Policy and Procedures for Proposed Franchise Relocations affirms that, ??clubs are obligated to work diligently and in good faith to obtain and to maintain suitable stadium facilities in their home territories.?LINK

No, it's not possible to fix games without somebody talking. Impossible. Including refs.

And you can't fix the bounce.

I can never be convinced.

We all know wrestling's fixed.....No one "talks" about it, and it's always sold out!

The Fix can happen in lots of very tiny little ways
Over under easy to fix
Game plan & ref

Game plan also fixes the outcome of games where the owner/coach conspire via the league office
Always happens
None of the conspires would ever rat they r part of the 2nd largest big boy club in the world behind the Catholic Church

100% correct

This game is so fast....refs miss things...I miss things and I get slow-mo and replay......

And look at guys like hochuli....loves the camera... most of them do.....for a chance to be the guy to take down the NFL as well as b the celebrity and $ that comes with it....no way they could keep guys quit this long....

Human nature anymore....rather then admit we were wrong after we have the opportunity to watch and evaluate the game right in front of us, people would rather blame someone else or make excuses.

Corruption can get in anywhere...but after 60 years, someone would have talked....or hell even made a movie about it....

You can find all kind of links where former wrestlers at various levels explain the process. Perhaps the same can be said for former NFL athletes, I've just never seen one

Maybe it happens and I'm naive and the fool

Perhaps it is because I played the game all my life until after college, and I cannot see any pissible way they can do it and be succesful...too many variables.....and too many people involved ...they would dick up the fix at some level

And what would be the reason for fixing the games? So Peyton Manning can go out a winner? That won't make the NFL more money so what would be a reason to fix games? None!

The NFL owes a lot of its popularity to Vegas for being able to throw down $ on every game. Is it unrealistic to think maybe "Vegas" calls in to the powers that be with
A "I'm slammed with Cowboys action here, we need a philly cover".

Just saying, strange instances happen every season that leads me to think some games are fixed.

Tulah, in my opinion, there would not be such a phone call in this day and age. Someone at the NFL would have to be a moron to participate in such a call. This would eventually leak to media, and it would be catastrophic to integrity of sport. They would never risk that. NFL doesn't care if Vegas and books lose money or win money on a game. In the end, everyone knows the house always wins anyway in long run. If the games are fixed, and I don't think NFL is, it would be because an individual ref or refs are engaged in game fixing without NFL's knowledge.

I somewhat agree , you mean it would come out eventually.
There was Hornung, Karras, Carol Rosenbloom, Schlister. Known gamblers. and The Eagles owner leonard Tose.

But given all the games played and dealing with humans, I'm sure there was a few quick hit and runs over the years and we'd never know it.
