Fishing Guide Jeff Webster of Soldotna Alaska has a son serving in the military in Iraq.Five religiously pacifistic Quaker women and an 82 year old non Quaker woman stood on a street corner for one hour a night, not chanting anti military war slogans but holding signs of Iraqi girls holding a lamb, stuff like that. This goon goes up to them two days in a row and threatens them that they'd better take that stuff off the street, they'd better BE PATRIOTIC and GET BEHIND our boys and the military.(These folks don't like fighting or killing for any reason. This is a religious commitment for Quakers)The third day this peabrained neanderthal jumps in the back of a pick-up truck and douses these women with buckets of water. The protesters actually felt sorry for the guy and didn't press assault charges, opting for a warning from the Alaska State Troopers to Webster to cease and desist, which they felt would be enough to get him to stop.Wrong.The next day he douses them again! Now the idiot is pleading not guilty, had the second dousing on tape with "patriotic" music playing in the backgound. Some misguided people are telling him to fight the assault charges on the grounds his son is fighting in Iraq.Yeah, lets rip up the constitution in the process, because the behavoir of people like this Webster guy is entirely UNAMERICAN.No place for religious freedom or free speech in a country this guy and his ilk live in,it threatens them too much, but the problem is that he is emulating the most unAmerican of behavoirs, the like of which I'm sure were common place in Iraq under Saddam and Hitlers Germany,Mussolinis Italy.Repressing unpopular opinion with violence is unfreakin' American.Carry a sign right next to them, counter protest, but you can't attack your own countrymen. But no,might makes right,War is Peace,Free Speech is being run off the streets by Goosestepping Unpatriots,1984 is finally here.Surely night raids of our homes in the name of preventing wrong thinking,(and of course, terrorism) can't be far behind .A word to the wiseguy.
