For those of you who like classical music, I just heard a piece by a contemporary Polish composer Henryk Gorecki called the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs (Symphony #3) that blew me away. What a gorgeous piece of music. Is anyone familiar with any other works by this guy.

The Polish composer Henryk G?recki was born in Silesia in 1933 and studied in Katowice and with Messiaen in Paris. He has achieved very considerable sudden international success with the third of his symphonies, after earlier achievement that was recognised principally in his native country. His musical idiom is original and unconventional, while often drawing on the simplest of materials, whether from popular peasant sources or from the liturgy

G?recki's Third Symphony, the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, with its moving soprano solo, has exercised a hypnotic fascination over recent audiences. It is a powerful work of mounting intensity, insistent in its effect. His Second Symphony, Kopernikowska, uses a solo baritone and chorus, combining texts from the Psalms and from Copernicus into a remarkable creation.

William Hung already has a recording contract.

The singer, who became a fan favorite ? but not a judges' favorite ? during open auditions for the Fox series with his spirited version of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs," has signed a deal with Fuse Music Network and Koch Records.

His debut album, tentatively titled "The True Idol," is scheduled for release April 6, it was announced Monday. It will contain "She Bangs," along with another Martin hit, "Shake Your Bon Bon," and a cover of Elton John's "Rocket Man," which Hung sang recently on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

COVINGTON -- A woman was caught trying to use a fake $1 million bill to buy $1,675 worth of merchandise at a Wal-Mart, and was later found with two more of the bills in her purse, police said.

The United States Treasury does not make $1 million bills, but people can buy souvenirs of such a bill at some stores, police said.

"It looks real, but of course there's nothing real about this," Covington Police Chief Stacey Cotton said Tuesday. "People do crazy things all the time. I think it's just another example of some odd things that occur."

A clerk at the store immediately noticed the bill was fake when 35-year-old Alice Regina Pike handed it to her on Friday, Cotton said.

Pike then tried to use two gift cards with only $2.32 of value on them to buy the merchandise, but when that didn't work she again asked if the clerk could cash the $1 million bill, Cotton said. The store then called police.

Pike, of Porterdale, was charged with forgery. There was no listing for her phone number in directory assistance, and she could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

Covington is 32 miles southeast of Atlanta.
