First of all, occassionaly there are last minute changes in the line-ups, but yesterdays last second baffling trade of Ryan Smith sealed the deal for Oiler backers last night. I tend to place my bet early in the day and fortunately was able to buy back 1/3 of the wager. Getting back to the trade....what was Kevin Lowe thinking when making such a dumb trade? At least get equal value for your stud player. It looks to me like he was unprepared when unable to sign Smith and took the first offer that came his way. I guarantee he will pay for this bad decision with his job. Can anyone else out there see an opportunity for Messier to take over as GM or am i spreading crazy rumours
Onto Wednesday's difficult card, i will wager on the CAROLINA HURRICANES (+1 1/2 -140). The reason being revenge. Ottawa has beated them twice in Carolina already, but the canes beat them in Ottawa 3-2 on Nov.4. Getting the all important goal and half makes it all the more attractive. I know that Ottawa has gone 7-0-1 in their last 8 and i shouldn't go against streaks, but if the Stanley Cup Champions come out unmotivated, i'll be surprised. :director: Canes +1 1/2 -140
