Ok i haven't had anything to drink, so that no one will think i am soft on this topic.
And i am not that old yet, or at least not enough to still be in touch with today's music, but old enough to say that i cant believe the shit they sing today, its just not like the stuff we use to listen to.
But i have just been fed up with all the "R&B", rap and the other shit that they actually give awards to. And on top of it call these people artists.
But tonight i saw probably the best performance i have seen on the Grammies in the last 10 to 15 years. And i don't even know one of the ARTISTS, and i mean Artists.
But the Trio that came on after Stevie Wonder introduced them. A black pianists, a black young woman(British i think) and i think John Mar or something to that effect. But each of them played one of their songs with little assistance from the others.
It had the jazz, smoke filled, classy drink ambiance to it. i mean they were fabulous, sounded great. and the lyrics were poetry, and i hate poetry.
It didn't have the classless , half dressed , thug banging, pimp slapping appeal that most shows have. it was dressed from top to bottom with class and elegance.
i hope many people actually watched and appreciated this, this actually gives me faith that the "next" generation might just make it. It even makes me want to support many of other people's efforts of giving to music programs in school.
In closing i think that everyone in the audience should have stood up longer in applause. this Trio was GREAT.
