Picking a favorite Dead tune is like asking which one of my kids is my favorite, but I've always liked this one....:toast:

Best transition ever between two songs, Lovelight --> Goin' Down the Road, 4/26/72, Frankfurt Germany. A great musician friend once told me that there are rare moments when music can elicit the feeling of pure joy, and this is one of them.

And as a person who has been to over 100 Phish shows, where transitions are amazing and complex, that is high praise.

Couldn't say one of my favorite songs. So many great ones for different feelings.

Great thread Hash! Smiling now for sure.. I'm with somebody else's earlier post - it's like trying to pick your favorite child...

Love any Bobby song, and your pick is a great one. Love Jack Straw, Me and My Uncle..

Working Man's was my first album (passed to me from my cool uncle) and how I taught myself to play guitar.

Fucking A. Great thread.

I didn't realize there are so many Deadheads at Madjack. They are one band that I am really sad that I was too young to see. I'm glad you enjoy the thread, dcgoz. "Me and My Uncle" is one of my faves as well.

I caught the tail end of them and saw them a few times. Live was fun and very often there was the "WOW" set or song. I enjoy pouring over all of their earlier live recordings. More intimate settings is where they really shined for me.

Also loved Jerry's bluegrass work with Gresham..
