Thyroid disorder. I c it occasionally, and I have a co-worker that has it. She's had her thyroid treated some way 3 times (I think some kinda radiation Mebbe??). She has the 'look' u get with it: body shape and protuberant eyes. It along with her diabetes has slowed her down, but she's still relatively active.

I've never even heard of it. Does a family member have it?

Someone close to me has it and it is getting frustrating dealing with doctors who i don't know if they know how to deal with this. Heart racing like u are gonna have a heart attack, total exhaustion, like Six five says perturding eyes. She doesn't have that luckily but the one eyelid is druped a bit. This girl was the most drivin person i ever met in my life and now is reduced to the couch most of the times. Went from top of the class to now struggling to stay in school. They see a doctor called an Endocrinologist and trying to get one is next to impossible. I need to get another fresh pair of eyes on her. Look up tyroid storm and see how horrible this is. Her family as a support system should be shot. I don't need info about this god awful disease i just want to know if anyone knows anyone that has it and how are they dealing with it. I don't like her doctor and i think he is way to conservative with this bullshit disease and all these meds he has her on. I just took a buddy of mine to get scoped and his doc sat with me and was appaud by what was going on. He gave me his name to drop to another endocrinologist around here, and again i can't get an appointment till Feb. This is the third time i went thu a doc who even as a classmate they can't get an appointment. Nobody diserves to deal with this on their own. Nobody.

right now she is on methimazole and a heart med. these meds have been increased a lot. I know this doctor won't go the radiation route. Imagine taking all these pills and being told it should start working in about six months. when she is at her worst i swear it look s like she is being tortured. Her one hand trembles really bad.
