undoubtedly it has probably cost me, but I have never been one to track umpires & use that information in my handicapping. That said, I'm wondering if Larry Vanover is statistically a "homer" umpire.Durazzo on a 0-2 count was clearly struck out to end that game last night. Smoltz put a pitch waist high that caught at least 3in of the outside corner.

Granted Arizona & Durazzo capitalized & produced cracking 2 rockets off Smoltz to tie up game. But clearly Durazzo should have been rung up to end the game.

And yes I had the under

good luck tonight

i am none of the 3...but i can say

in 1997, vanover was 28-9 home team
in 1998 he was 20-14 home team
in 1999 he was 10-15 home team

this year 13-10 home team

i dont have info for 2000 and 2001...maybe he was one of those ump who was fired and then rehired later

i had the under too

Vanover is a fairly nuetral ump and one that even tho I track I won't put much faith in either way, sides or totals.
