That's really relevant since I can think of exactly zero mass shootings where a civilian with a conceal carry intervened to prevent more deaths.

thats because all of the Rambos here havent been in that situation

So because you "can think of exactly zero" that means it has never happened? Or, more to the point of my post, could never happen???

Your lack of knowledge on the subject doesn't make my statement less relevant.

Nice try.

Okay. Find me some post them here.

From the article:

"Contrast these incidents with the January 16, 2002 incident at the Appalachian Law School in Grundy, Virginia when two students with guns stopped what could have been a mass murder when they tackled a culprit after he had killed three people."

Holy shit I had no idea guns were necessary to tackle people. This is going to be really exciting news for a lot of NFL players!

If you had chosen to research it further rather than posting a failed attempt to be funny, you may have found this:

http://freestudents.blogspot.com/2007/04/when-mass-killers-meet-armed-resistance.html

"Bridges pulled a .357 Magnum pistol and he later said he was prepared to shoot to kill if necessary. He and Gross both approached Odighizuwa at the same time from different directions. Both were pointing their weapons at him. Bridges yelled for Odighizuwa to drop his weapon. When the shooter realized they had the drop on him he threw his weapon down. A third student, unarmed, Ted Besen, approached the killer and was physically attacked.
But Odighizuwa was now disarmed. The three students were able to restrain him and held him for the police. Odighizuwa is now in prison for the murders he committed. His killing spree ended when he faced two students with weapons. There would be no further victims that day, thanks to armed resistance."

So they could have shot him but instead chose to react with non-lethal force once he surrendered his weapon. Which he only did because he was outgunned.

Remain ignorant and make your silly one-liners and hopefully if you ever find yourself in the midst of a mass shooting, someone with sense will be there to save your ass anyway.

The fact remains that the number of mass murders strongly outnumber the number that were prevented by civilian guns.

No need to get so touchy bud, it's obviously a topic we will not agree on.

Multiple deaths reported in shooting at Connecticut elementary school

DEVELOPING: A gunman opened fire Friday inside a Connecticut elementary school, and multiple people -- including the shooter -- are dead, according to officials.
Reports also said children were shot but it remains unclear whether any were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.
Authorities said the gunman, who was not identified, is dead. An official with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press that the man apparently had two guns.
Earlier reports of a second gunman are unconfirmed. The Connecticut Post reports that police are also questioning a handcuffed man in connection with the shooting. Witnesses told the newspaper he was led out of the woods by officers.
Shortly after 9:40 a.m., authorities reported that a shooter was in the main office of the school. A person in one room had "numerous gunshot wounds," police told the Hartford Courant.
A dispatcher at the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps said a teacher was shot in the foot and taken to Danbury Hospital, but it was not clear if that was the only injury.
The Newtown School District has locked down schools as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
State police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance said they have a number of personnel on the scene to assist.
A statement on the district's website stated that afternoon kindergarten classes have been canceled.
The elementary school has close to 700 students.
Newtown is in Fairfield County, about 45 miles southwest of Hartford and 60 miles northeast of New York City.

Knife-wielding man injures 22 children in China

By Terril Yue JonesReuters
1:48 a.m. EST, December 14, 2012

BEIJING (Reuters) - A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on schoolchildren in the country.

The man attacked the children at the gate of a school in Chenpeng village in Henan province, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man, identified as villager Min Yingjun, Xinhua said. It did not give further details of the extent of the injuries.

There have been a series of attacks on schools and schoolchildren around China in recent years, some by people who have lost their jobs or felt left out of the country's economic boom.

The rash of violence has prompted public calls for more measures to protect the young in a country where many couples only have one child.

In 2010, a man slashed 28 children, two teachers and a security guard in a kindergarten in eastern China.

difference between these two heinous crimes is one resulted in injuries and the other resulted in death.

I think I know that much

When I think back to going to elementary school there was never never any worry about being safe.

I cant imagine if I had to worry about this/

My daughter in law is a teacher and our grandson is in the same school she teachs.

she said she feels like taking him out of school and never going back.

as Rolltide said

what is this world coming to when this kind of sickness exists
