My wife and I had to put our 9 year old beloved cocker spaniel who slept in our bed every night to sleep after finding out Tuesday she was dieing of kidney failure and stopped eating. It opened my eyes to the fact I have been a very angry person for a while and Thursday was a sobering moment in my life. She is loved and missed every day, RIP Honey...

Luckily we have another cocker who is 7, so when he dies hopefully in a long time then my wife and I have decided to rescue a dog or cat from the pound for our next pet.

Dude, realizing your anger is part of it. Life is good. Actually, it is awesome. Be yourself, take your time, and be as positive as you can. Hang out at a park with some kids. Look at a flower differently, watch it develop. It truly is good, and I am sorry for your loss.

That sucks Hedge, eventually you'll get over it.
Went through it a long time ago with my Schnauzer, had to put
her down. It was miserable watching her roll down the stairs and whacking her nose off the walls.
She went blind from old age.

BTW - Do you guys clean up piss all the time from Cockers. I remember a neighbour had one and it pissed everywhere when it got excited.

I'm sorry for your loss. Anyone who has pets and cherishes them as family members, understands.

Time will help. Also, when I put my 16 year old Persian to sleep, I wrote a five page story of her life. It really helps to put all that down on paper, the funny incidents, the idiosyncracies of the pet, etc...I did it right after I put her to sleep so that I could remember everything that made her special.

Good luck.
