clint, the pics you posted are awesome. thanks for sharing. the poverty over there is sobering but you wouldn't know it from the look on the childrens faces. you are a special person to do what you do. my daughter is in the nursing program here at the college and I'm proud of her for the path she has chosen. good luck and continued success...

I figured, "When is the next time I'll be in Haiti? I don't need to wear a condom." -Bad Idea Jeans from SNL

Very commendable work.

Thanks for sharing pics 6-5. Showed them to my wife who is a nurse. She has always wanted to do something like that. She probably will when the kids are grown. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.:toast:

Nasty untreated cancer... :(

haiti_2007045.jpg

wanted to add this comment. This guy really touched me. He walked 3 days to get where we were at the mission. He was very thin; even moreso than a usual Haitian. This place on his neck was as hard as a rock. It was obvious cancer, and it originated in his mouth. Something that would be caught most of the time in the USA at a relatively early stage, probably on a dental checkup. This fellow had about 1-3 months to live best guess. We told him what was going on, there was nothing really to do to help him, and that this would end his life in pretty short order, and here's what he said. "Life or death, I will be with my father..." Can you imagine your response after being told you had untreated cancer and to get your affairs in order??? WOW, what a testimony that was. Christian, agnostic, atheist, or whatever you are, those words were powerful. Trips to Haiti are full of experiences like this that just absolutely grab you and shake you and slap you in the face. That's why I go.

Very cool... I do have a question though. Why are you circumsizing the boys...is it religious or is there some medical reason?

The ones that we did were all because of really bad phimosis. Some also had infections too, and we did a few adults as well.
