Hey they pay well in Iraq. 100 grand and more for cooks and drivers. More for the well workers. And even we Americans kick in. The first 80 grand they make is tax free. However there is a down side. There have been 8 workers killed in last 10 months. But that lure of good bucks sometimes is to great.
So when you here about Hal over chargeing the Army. Well at least some of that money is getting In the hands of the right folks.

unfortunately folks have been killed while in employment by Halliburton but this company is probably the most shady company in existence right bow since the demise of Enron. Basically we are footing the bill on this for Cheney and his cronies to make large loot and even after Halliburton has been caught extorting money from US tax payers by overcharging millions of dollars the Bush administration sit's by and has no comment.

Too bad the press didn't ask Bush some real questions during that so called press conference. I would have liked to hear him stumble on his words explaining Halliburtons overcharging and how come no one is going to jail for that.

Haliburton reportedly paid the man taken hostage--maybe killed-- 80 or 85,000. He was a middle level employee-not cook DJV.
Also all people that "volunteer" have option to returm yo U.S. apon request.

Since this thread is small and I see the bulk of the opposition here I'd like to pose a few questions they might like to clear up.

1st Name 2 corporations "in the world" beside Halibuton qualified to take on huge task in Iraq. I can think of possibly one.

"Basically we are footing the bill on this for Cheney and his cronies to make large loot and even after Halliburton has been caught extorting money from US tax payers by overcharging millions of dollars the Bush administration sit's by and has no comment"

M.C. I know you are very well read on subject but somehow I think you have missed all the investigations this administration has called for concerning over charging--so why the "sit by and no comment?? Now if they find them quilty and they run off to another country for asylem and get put on 10 most wanted list and Cheney or Bush pardons them, I'll climb on them with you:)

Why Are We Still There ?

Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on TV there are photos of death and destruction. Why are we still there?

We occupied this land, which we had to take by force, but it causes us nothing but trouble. Why are we still there?

Many of our children go there and never come back. Why are we still there?

Their government is unstable, and until recently they've had very unstable leadership. Why are we still there?

Many of their people are uncivilized. Why are we still there?

The place is subject to natural disasters, which we are supposed to bail them out of. Why are we still there?

There are more than 1000 religious sects, which we do not understand. Why are we still there?

Their folkways, foods and fads are unfathomable to ordinary Americans. Why are we still there?

We can't even secure the borders. Why are we still there?

They are billions of dollars in debt and it will cost billions more to rebuild, which we can't afford. Why are we still there?

The answer is clear.. we must pull out of California.

DTB why the tax break. I say if they have it comeing fine. But cooks. In secure places. If these guys are in hot zone take them out and let the Army do what it's always has done. It sure would cost less. Im sure you remember some of your GI pay.
