Philly (-3) over Oakland
I am not a firm believer in playing pre-season football because the outcome is based solely on when a coach thinks he should pull a player. Having said that I will ride the Eagles in this game. Considering McNabb might get 4 plays in before he is pulled I am pretty sure we will see a lot of Jeff Garcia, which is a player who I think should be able to move the offense against any second team in the NFL. Then you have back up Detmer and Timmy (F@#k it and chuck it) Chang in reserve. I hope Chang doesn't see a second in this game because then I will like this play even more. On the Radiers side of the ball I see Walters as the only QB of talent and I think Brooks is in for an early hook because he is the starter this season. The Eagles have a solid RB's in Moats, Perry, Buckhalter and Mahe coming in off the pine and considering they got playing time last season they should make plays in this game. The eagles WR situation is up in the air so I expect Reid to play all the Wideout in hope that someone emerges. The Eagles defense should get one or two series and they will play well. The second team defense for the Eagles include Shawn Barber and Siminoe (sp) so I expect those player to help lead the defense againt one of the poorest excuses for a QB Tuiasisopo(sp). Looking at the teams the Eagles have the advantage in depth and coaching but Shell being as it has been a few years since he coached might take this a bit more seriously than Reid. All in all IMO the Eagles are the better second and third string team. My only concern as I have said is Walters but I think the O-line of Oakland will not be able to keep him up right enough to be the difference maker.
