Looking forward to seeing what you have to say about this subject after I catch you in the NFL contest........;)

Anyone that can win a NFL handicapping contest here at MadJack's certainly comands my attention. If I can't learn something from a 'capper thats doing as well as you, Geno, I might as well get out of the game right now.

Maybe not the most important stat, but a stat that is important ;) , is yards per pass attempt. This is helpful in both NFL and NCAA. For the most part, you need to pass the ball to win games. Case and point, Miami vs. Nebraska last year. Give me a passing team over an option running team any day of the week. Plus, once an option team gets behind, it is obviously harder for them to come back. Also, the yards per ATTEMPT is important because a guy can throw 50 times for 225 yards or 30 times for 225 yards, big difference.

Just my two pennies.

IMO all variables mentioned need to be weighed. Some very good info info in these threads though.

redsfann, thanks for the kind words and for the most part we all can learn something from each other. I hope you don't (catch me) but I know you can! You are in position to do so as are at least 11 other guys. Fact of the matter it may only be mine to lose not mine to win(IF you know what I mean, I say that as respect to the folks here). The key to learning from each other is keeping an open mind instead of a know it all attitude. I am guilty of that myself at times. Anyone who has a plus rating in the contest has nothing to be ashamed of. IN FACT if the bottom guys are really(or have been trying most of the way) to win the last place prize there are what 10 - 15 of them that are doing WAY better than the top 10 leaders ! :)

Again as I said I don't use simply the one ITEM I feel is important but IF I could use only one item, that stat is the one I have in mind.

Best of luck to all the rest of the way. Oh and Happy Holidays to all here. One Great Group of folks here on this forum !
