hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

obviously, i'd like these programs to not have any type of spyware in em....!!!

1) does anyone know of any (free) good software that can keep track of your bets....?

ie: and keep track of your profits....

2) does anyone know of a program that you can use as a database (and update it) to keep track of ATS / UNITS in the major sports....?

meaning, can keep track of teams winning and losing on a type of spreadsheet, streaks.....totals goin over and under... and stuff like that....?

or has heard of ANY good software that you HAVE paid for and currently use...?

am i makin sense here.....?

thanks in advance.

I'm a programmer and I've been thinking about developing something like this. Right now I have a spreadsheet that works well though, you just put your bet, the sporstbook, the odds, and it will track your records and profits for each sport. It also tracks the balances at all your sportsbooks, taking into account deposits/withdrawals/bonuses also. And for each bet you can assign it a category/angle/system, this way your overall record for a given sport can be broken down and you can see, for example, how your "3rd in4" angle is doing (W/L % and $), or it could even be a capper you're following. Then you have your overall summary of balances, money in action, W/L.

If anyone wants it let me know. If there were people that would use a program like this I would write it.

I've wanted to try to develop a handicapping software for basketball actually, I know there are some programs out there that try to predict winners, but I think theres alot to be improved upon. Or maybe stat crunching like this just doesn't work no matter how good the algorithms. Opinions?

Great Idea!!!

Great Idea!!!

I have been asking once a year on Everyedge for a few years for exactly this. No one ever replies.

What I need is bet-tracking software. Something where you can record a bet, let us say in baseball. You can record if it is a Pk bet, side, total. Also, what is the +/- odds. If the team is a dog/fav, etc. Size of bets in $$$. The outcome. Whoever said they are sick of doing it by hand if RIGHT ON!

NOW here is the thing. With a decent program, you should be able to produce REPORTS that give you whatever you need. Such as...What is my record on Totals, W-L record, $$$ record, etc.

Also, you would want to do this by Sport (to see if you are better at baseball, foots, hoops, etc).

This should NOT be an impossible program to have! There are programs to track your sports card collections for the purpose of insurance, etc. I REALLY FEEL THAT WE SPORTS BETTORS ARE STILL LIVING IN THE DAYS OF THE PEN AND QUILL SO FAR AS OUR ACCOUNTING GOES. AND ACCOUNTING IS CRITICAL IF WE ARE GOING TO BE SERIOUS. (sorry for the shouting...heh)

Anyways, if anyone can help with this, to heck with "free", I would be prepared to pay decent money to liberate myself from this awful writing it out by hand, which I often neglect (to my own detriment).

Sorry for such a long post. Let's get it done. Our financial future is *that important*.

P.S. I think we have to separate such "Bet Tracking Software" from "Sports Capping Software". These are two different animals, and the latter might have a database built in. It would be a much more elaborate project and some of these are available now, and offered in the Las Vegas Bookstore site. It is the former that is important to provide us with our own Accounting Software.

Yanno,

Let me know your email and I can send you the spreadsheet I made if you want to check it out.

I have started working on a bet tracking program actually. I have the main functionality planned out, but I bet people here would have some good ideas about features that could be added. I have seen an older program that does this, but it looks so unintuitive and cumbersome to use so I am going to just make one myself. Handicapping I can't do but software design, yes.

I would be more than happy to give you input on this thing. We all need it! But how do I get my email to you? I don't think MJ wants it posted here, does he?

P.S. I think you are on the right track. There are enough bettors and cappers out there, that I think this is a marketable product.
