I am beginning to wonder if Hansbrough is seeking a transfer to Duke. The last few games he has started flopping a few times per game and its getting really irritating.

The flop at the end of the Miami game was HUGE. Come on dude, your 7-ft tall and supposed to be the greatest player in UNC history (which he is not).

Stand up and play like a man.

BTW, I am of course a UNC fan, and I had Miami +8'

he flopped 3 times yesterday. refs blew that last call. he was sliding to his right. it has to be a no call or a block[ 20 seconds earlier ellingon charged and it was a no call]. give him credit he had 8 pts and 4 rebounds while miami was w/o their best post player collins. not bad for a player of the year!

It wasn't a flop. Hardly ever does anyone attempt to take a charge and not flop. If you watch the replay from the sidelines you can see the miami guy lower his shoulder and extend his arm.

If you're complaining about that, then you're just looking for reasons to complain.

If you were really a UNC fan you wouldn't have bet AGAINST them.

I hated to see the game decided by a 7-footer sliding and falling down rather than playing defense.

Also, I didn't bet against Carolina to lose, I bet against them covering 8 1/2 points.

I'm not looking to complain. I'm tired of seeing games decided by people trying to "fool" the refs rather than playing basketball. I've bitched a ton about Duke over the years and while I know they aren't the only ones, they are consistently blatant about so many things.

But lately, Hansbrough's jersey looks a lot darker shade of blue than usual, so I called him out on it.

nobody said he was better than michael beasley.

also, he only had like 7 shot attempts...they ran a zone and pretty much smothered him

he had a season high in assists, and most importantly, he played great defense, and carolina won.

Dude, there are more than 6 billion people in the world who won't read a word on this forum. Sorry Jack, its true....lol.

I wasn't posting it so Hansbrough could read it. The guy flopped and he's been flopping a lot lately. Even a diehard Heel fan can see it through my powder blue lenses...

It actually shows that he cares less about beating Redick's career scoring record and more about team victories, ie letting outside guys contribute more.

Lowell I haven't heard much from you lately. Your dookies are doing their usual February collapse, it's a yearly thing now. That's big talk coming from a fan whose team has lost 4 of their last 6. What's the excuse going to be this year? It can't be "emotional fatigue", that was last year's slogan.

By the way Hansbrough played through most of yesterday's game with a concussion he suffered diving for a loose ball. That probably had something to do with his performance. As far as flopping, it's comical to hear a dook fan comment anywhere near the topic. Especially after Jay Williams called your program and coach out on national tv and admitted dook players are taught how to flop and actually practice it.

CLASSIC Paulus flop

I'm not questioning Hansbrough's game, just noticing 2-3 flops per game lately which is a little irritating. NOTHING compared to Duke. Scheyer cares more about contact than a wide open layup.

Duke is so conditioned to fall down that basketball is secondary to "fooling" the refs...

Attempting to draw a charge (thought it was a block btw at the end of the miami game) vs flopping are two different things. Hansbrough always takes the contact. He never throws his head back as if a mack truck just hit him with negligible contact like dook players.

I wanted to comment about a couple of the things on this topic. First I am a huge UNC fan, but am not a huge Hansbrough fan. I did not see the game last night, so I can't say anything about his flops.

First, it is silly to say you can't bet against a team that you like. Especially when your favorite team is favored. I also took Miami last night, and was glad I did. The only logical reason not to bet against the team you like is if somehow your bet affects the outcome of the game, which mine doesn't.

As I said I am not a huge Hansbrough fan, but I like that he's playing for the Heels and not against them. I don't particularly like his style of play, but he does get the job done. What I do find funny is when my friends, who are Duke fans, make fun of the way he plays. In my opinion, he is a textbook example of a Duke basketball player. More hard work than talent, and goofy.

Lastly, I also find myself very frustrated with the refereeing while watching college basketball games. It seems that so much of what a referee calls is about what he guesses happened, and not what he actually sees. Obviously, it's not easy what they do so it's hard to criticize, but frustrating nonetheless.

I see what you are saying, that's probably why I didn't watch it. I guess I think of it as a middle, but I could never bet against them if they were dogs. That's not very often though.

BUCS, there are times where I will not bet on a game rather than bet against my team. Its more about not wanting to cheer against my team. That said, I have no control over what happens.

If the Lakers were a pick against UNC....sorry, I'm not going to turn down free money. Not to mention, against Miami...I won money and my team won.

I see your point, but its more about the fact that I play what I think wins and I cheer for UNC.

I'm not a big Hansbrough fan but I do like him. I like his hustle and work ethic, etc. I'm also not a big fan of his game. He travels and he's so erratic that its hard to play D on him w/o fouling and thats why he goes to the line so much.

I don't see him as a flopper, but like I say, don't like seeing a 7-foot "stud" falling down after limited contact.

jhawksoon, I am indeed a big Notre Dame fan, but even in football...my Tarheels come first. I am not one of those that has a favorite in football and different favorite in basketball.

I do like ND football a lot more than ND bball, but at the same time I remember cheering for the likes of David Rivers and Kelly Tripuka coached by Digger Phelps. I just love the history and everything about Notre Dame football.

But again, my favorite is UNC. The only time I would go for ND over NC is if it got in the way of a nat'l title, b/c the football postseason is so screwed up.

As much as I like ND, give me Dick Crum, Kelvin Bryant, "Famous" Amos Lawrence, Lawrence Taylor, the victory bell for a win over Duke, the list goes on and on.

I guess Notre Dame gives me more of a national favorite that is 2nd to my Heels. I'm a tarheel born, a tarheel bred, and of course when I die....a tarheel dead :)
