One day after Notre Dame landed its head coach, Kansas could be closer to filling its vacancy with a high-profile hire.
Jim Harbaugh will leave Stanford to coach to Jayhawks, according to radio station KCSP-AM in Kansas City. The report cited two scources that indicated Harbaugh would fly to Lawreance after Saturday's Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York, where Cardinal running back Toby Gerhart is one of the finalists.
Television station KMBC is also reporting that Harbaugh has been offered the job.
Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins would not confirm the reports and stressed that the search process is "ongoing."
"As we have said in the past, we will not comment on rumors about any potential candidates for the position of head football coach at the University of Kansas," Perkins said. "Having said that, I will reiterate at this time that the process is ongoing. We have not offered the head coaching position to anyone."<A href="http://www2.kusports.com/news/2009/dec/11/perkins-no-offer-has-been-made-head-coaching-candi/">

I thought the UConn coach would be talked to since AD Perkins came from there. Maybe he turned them down?
