I think people bought into the hype machine against McCain.

Perot -- I voted for him because my #1 concern was a balanced budget. I personally feel that the President should just be the CEO. Direction and ideas. Your cabinet and others in the administration should really be doing the grunt work. I know Bush was touted as the "CEO President", but we all know that he didn't exactly come from the ghetto.

Perot built a company on his own, and I thought he would try to instill that in the country's financial situations. You also have to take into account that I was 18! I still feel that if he wouldn't have dropped out, then he would have come damn near winning the election if not actually taking it.

Does everyone remember his live infomercials he did on what had to be done to get our budget back in order? I loved those things.

Also, if we never vote for the 3rd party candidates, then how do expect a 3rd party to ever emerge? Perot had something going until he stole the spotlight and wouldn't let that other guy be the presidential candidate for his party the next election.

And then there was the Stockdale thing. A great person who was so far out of his league. That was so difficult to see. ..."I once ran a civilization...."

Pretty ironic, 12 years of conservative Bushes running the budget. If not for democrat Clinton in between, we'd have had nothing but deficits across the board. Yet, the idea persists that ALL republicans are conservatives and all democrats are wasteful. Clearly, this isn't true.
