Just made reservations for Vegas. Jan 10-15. Staying someplace different this time. We usually stay at Ballys or Paris. Have also stayed at Treasure Island and Riviera. Gonna try Harrah's this time. They madeus a pretty good offer of 2 free nights and 60 per for the other 2 nights. Was wondering if anyone else has stayed there and how was it? How's the sportsbook? We have had the buffet there before and was pleased with it. Also gonna try the Seafood Buffet at Rio. Has anyone else tried it ? Thanks Boiler

On the course!
Ther rooms are nice enough. The casino is a real grind joint. The sports book is very cramped, and I rate it as shitty.

If you stay there, take a walk across the street to watch the games, and go to a dump like Barbary Coast for black jack.

I have always contended that it doesnt matter where you stay out there as long as there is a bed and location is great....Harrah's has both.

There and Rio are my two choices to stay....so many other things to spend your money on rather than a bed to sleep in.

Stayed at all of those, Like Tease said, Bed and Location. Stayed last at Bally's for the first time. Had a Great view of Paris Pool and Fountain Dance across the Street.

That's a good time to go, discounts and crowds should be lower than a few week earlier, crowds..I guess it's always crowded.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Harrah's has an excellent location, can't beat that.

Ask for room in Carnival Tower (newest and nicest part of hotel) with a strip view. Shouldn't be any problem getting a free upgrade to these at this slow January time--better still, ask for a junior suite! you should get 'em all free.

Harrah's makes tons of money by offering terrible games and tight machines that most folks they get in don't realize. The BJ tables all pay 6:5 and hit on soft 17. Last time I was in sportsbook they demanded a $80 bet to get one lousy free drink ticket!!

They have a free shuttle that runs to their Rio property. But shuttle is in bowels of rear garage and sometimes a line (you won't know until you hike all the way out there) and long wait. I usually take the much faster/easier Barbary Coast shuttle when strolling the Strip and decide I want to visit Rio/The Palms/Gold Coast.

That seafood buffet at Rio is good but overpriced, unless you like lotta lobster. It's not up to quality at Bellagio. The regular buffet has been recently upgraded and I haven't tried it.

Echoing the rest, bad sportsbook, good location. Plenty of good books close to you if you're staying there, though. Not a bad place to stay at all.... just not a good place to play sports.

It has been over two years but stayed there very often in the past. Decent place, nothing special. Prefer their Laughlin location to be honest.
