Has anyone ever registered a trademark before? Time, cost?

Hey, guys. Has anyone ever registered a trademark, or copyrighted a word/term? I would think so with the folks that frequent here.

What is the cost/timeframe of each? I know I can research this and find out, and plan to...just wondering of any personal experiences. I know trademarking is more simple than copyrighting.

You can do everything online at www.uspto.gov in regards to trademarks.

For the ones that I have applied for, it is $325 for a standard trademark for a particular phrase in each specific category.

Example:

Phrase: "Chadman's GOY"
Categories: Infant Apparel; T-shirts

Cost: $650.00

Timeline: You should expect approximately 10 months for full approval, but they are very good about emailing updates and you can check online for updates throughout process.

Thanks, dawgball. I'd have to say that looking at your two examples, I'd probably make a lot more money with the infant apparel and shirts...
